On connaît déjà des systèmes de verrouillage en extension d'articulation de genou. Ces sytèmes utilisent un indexe de verrouillage vertical qui immobilise le segment inférieur de jambe dans le prolongement de l'axe de la cuisse. Telle qu'elle est représentée sur les fig.1 et 5, l'articulation selon l'invention comporte: - un corps 1 sur le dessus duquel est fixé un support de cuisse 2 au moyen d'une vis 3 vissée dans une plaque écrou 4 engagée dans une rainure 5; - une chape 6 sur laquelle est articulé le corps 1 par l'intermédiaire d'un axe 7 immobilisé sur le corps 1 par une vis pointeau- 8; la partie inférieure de la chape comporte un alésage 9, disposé verticalement, dans lequel est immobilisé un tube 10, constituant le segment inférieur- de jambe, au moyen d'une vis 11, provoquant un serrage par déformation élastique de la partie tubulaire de la chape fendue en 12, par vissage dans un bossage 13; - le système de verrouillage de l'articulation, représenté en coupe suivant A de la fig.3, constitué par un axe de verrou 15, pivotant dans un alésage borgne 16 du corps 1 disposé perpendiculairement à l'axe d'articulation 7, sous l'action d'un levier 17 (fig.4) traversant l'axe 15, rappelé élastiquement en butée sur le fond 18 d'un dégagement 19,20 (fig.1,6) au moyen d'un ressort de rappel 21.
