Abstract

The invention relates to a litter box, particularly intended for use in public places. It comprises a container provided with a bottom hatch 16 which can be maneuvered between open and closed positions by means of a linkage comprising two link arms 32, 34 articulated between them and on the bottom hatch 16, and connected to a pivoting member 30 which can be actuated from outside the container to move the hatch 16 between its open and closed positions. The invention relates to a trash box or a wastebasket,

  The detritus box according to the invention is characterized in that the release mechanism comprises a bottom hatch which is pivotally mounted relative to the container part, the bottom hatch being connected to a linkage which rises to actuating means arranged in a wall portion of the container, the actuating means being adapted to manipulate the release mechanism from outside the container. In a simple manner, it is thus possible to obtain good safety for the personnel when the contents of the trash box are emptied into a suitable collector, without the personnel carrying out this operation having to come into contact with, or be

  exposed to, any detritus presenting a risk.

  Conveniently, the trash box according to the invention can be designed so that the linkage connected to the bottom hatch comprises a first link arm whose end portion is pivotally connected to the bottom hatch, while an opposite end portion of this first connecting arm is articulated on a second connecting arm which is rigidly connected, on the opposite side to that of the first connecting arm, to the actuating means in the form of a pivoting element arranged parallel to the axis of tilting of the bottom hatch, in a partition, and which is guided in an outer wall portion of the container when the connecting arms are placed on the first side of the container, between said partition and its part of outer wall. This gives a particularly simple and reliable release mechanism for the bottom hatch, the release mechanism can also be placed well protected from the weather and detritus

  contained in the container of the box.

  The release mechanism of the detritus box according to the invention can advantageously be designed so that the distance between said pivoting element and the pivot point of the lower trapdoor is less than the length of said first linkage arm so that the point of pivoting between the first connecting arm and the second connecting arm can describe a circular arc centered on the pivoting element between a high position, corresponding to that in which the bottom hatch is placed at the bottom of the receiving part. and a low position corresponding to that in which the bottom hatch hangs vertically by fully opening the container, that is to say respectively corresponding to the closed positions and opening of the bottom hatch.   The invention will be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawing by way of non-limiting example and in which: FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a preferred embodiment of a trash can or wastebasket; according to the invention; - Figure 2 is a side plan view, partly in section, of the trash can or wastepaper basket of Figure 1, the bottom door or dump being open; and FIG. 3 is a side view, partly in section, of the trash can or wastebasket of FIG. 1, seen from the front side and whose hatch of

bottom is closed.

  The trash box or wastepaper basket 2 shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 is produced from a galvanized steel sheet and consists of a part 4 forming a container, made in one piece from a an elongate wrap-around plate which is folded into the shape shown to have a profiled front side 6 and a vertical open seal 8 in the middle of a back side 10, since the wrap-around plate at the rear side seal 8 is connected only to a funnel-shaped top plate 12 and by means of a central tubular piece 14 and a number of similar tubular pieces connected by welding along the lower extreme edge, to the inner face of the rear side 10, as the tubular parts serve as hinge parts for a bottom hatch 16 which, from. A partition 26 is disposed at a distance from and parallel to a narrow side wall 24 and is secured between the front and rear sides of the container 4 by welding spots and has a lower height than the of the side wall 24. In the middle of the latter and about three-quarters of its height, is disposed a mechanism 28 for actuating / releasing for the bottom hatch 16, comprising a horizontal pivoting member 30 which is pivotally mounted in the partition 26 and protruding outwardly through a guide opening

  formed in the narrow side portion 24. The pivoting element 30 is rigidly connected to a short connecting arm 32. This is pivotally connected, on the opposite side to that of the pivoting element 30, to a longer connecting arm 34 which, as before, is connected with

  pivoting way to the bottom hatch 16.

  The bottom hatch 16 comprises, on a short side, an upwardly projecting strut 36 in the form of a flat iron section which is fixed by welding to the upper face of the bottom hatch 16 and which , substantially in the middle, has a hinge bore for articulation with the lower end of the long link arm 34. Claims (5)

  A garbage container, particularly for use in public places, comprising a container part (4) having a filling opening (22), and a release mechanism (28) for emptying the contents of the container, characterized in that the release mechanism comprises: a bottom hatch (16) which is pivotally mounted with respect to the container and which is connected to a linkage (32, 34) rising up to a means (30) for actuation disposed in a side wall (34) of the container, said actuating means being adapted to allow operation of the mechanism of the   release from the outside of the container.   2. trash box according to claim 1, characterized in that the linkage connected to the bottom hatch comprises a first connecting arm (34), a first end portion is articulated on the bottom hatch, while an extreme part. opposite of this first connecting arm is articulated on a second connecting arm (32) which, on the opposite side to the first connecting arm, is rigidly connected to the actuating means in the form of a pivoting element (30) arranged parallel to the axis of tilting of the bottom hatch, in a partition (26), and guided in an outer wall (24) of the container when the connecting arms are placed on a first side of the   container between the bulkhead and the outer wall of this   this. 3. Trash box according to claim 2, characterized in that the distance between the pivoting element and the point of articulation with the bottom hatch is less than the length of the first connecting arm so that the point of articulation between the first link arm and the second link arm can describe-a circular arc whose center is constituted by the pivoting element, between a high position, corresponding to that in which the bottom hatch is placed level with the bottom of the container, and a low position, corresponding to that in which the bottom hatch hangs vertically, the bottom of the container being wide open, that is to say corresponding to closing and opening positions   from the bottom hatch, respectively.   4. Trash box according to claim 2, characterized in that the first connecting arm is   configured to have an extreme   curved point of articulation with the second, shorter connecting arm, can be placed in a top dead position above and behind the pivoting element, since it is advantageously disposed substantially at the middle of a narrow side wall (24) of the container and flush with the point of articulation between the opposite end portion of the first link arm and the bottom hatch.   5. Trash box according to any one of   Claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the container   is constructed to have an approximately rectangular cross-section, with rounded corner portions, of a single piece formed of an elongated wrap-around plate which, on the rear side (10) of the container, has an open vertical joint (8 ) and which, on the upper side, is connected to a funnel-shaped upper side part (12) having a central opening (22) filling.
