Abstract

Seeds are sown at equally spaced intervals in equally spaced rows in a seed tray with the aid of a device which is the subject of the invention. The device consists of a flat panel with rows of equally spaced holes. This panel is placed over a second panel with a similar pattern of holes but the panels are offset from each other so that the lower panel blocks the holes of the upper panel. A frame is placed around the upper panel and filled with seeds and shaken so that each hole receives a seed. The surplus seeds are removed and the two panels on a device (9) fitted with plastic tubes (11). When the two panels are aligned the seeds fall through the lower panel into the tubes (11) and into the seed tray (14). USE - Horticultural and market gardening.

Description

DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to a manual seed drill for all naked or coated vegetable seeds, used by horticulturalists, market gardeners or nurserymen.

This system makes it possible to deposit a seed at one time in each hole (I) of a culture plate fig. I, or to sow at regular intervals in a germination pot.

fig. I
ques de culture fig. I.
The sowing of these seeds is traditionally carried out in several ways: - on the fly in a terrine with seedlings then the young plants are
transplanted one by one into the holes (I) of the culture plates
fig. I
- by placing the seeds one by one in the holes (I) of the plates
cultivation fig. I.

bans les deux cas c'est un travail fastidieux et très long alors qu'avec semoir manuel il est possible d'effectuer ce travail en quelques secondes et beaucoup plus régulièrement.in both cases it is a tedious and very long job while with manual seed drill it is possible to do this work in a few seconds and much more regularly.

The manual seed drill consists of two plates: one metallic and the other plastic, which can slide around one another of about 5 mm. The upper plate bordered by a frame is pierced with a number of holes equal to that of the culture plate, the diameter of the holes is slightly greater than that of the seed, its thickness is also a function of the diameter of the seed. The lower plate is pierced with a number of holes, identical but of much greater diameter.

When sowing (seed drill closed), the holes in the upper plate are blocked by the lower plate. By a back and forth movement of the assembly we distribute a seed in each hole. The seed drill is placed on the distributor and it is put in the "open" position by sliding the upper stick on the lower plate. The seeds arranged in the holes flow through the lower plate into the plastic pipes which channel them into each of the holes in the culture plate.

Figure 3: the assembled assembly Figure 4 It the seed drill above a distributor (front view)
Figure 5: the seed drill above a distributor (side view).

3. The seed drill shown in Figure 3 is composed of a lower plate (5) with a handle for carrying it. It is pierced with a number of holes corresponding to that of the culture plate (I) fig. I, the diameter being much greater than that of the seeds (approximately 6 mm). It has wadding screws in which the frame (3) on which the calibration plate (4) is fixed by means of four springs (8) and four cap nuts (7) fig. 3.

2. The holes (2) of the frame (3) are ovalized to allow a lateral movement which allows to close or open the seed drill (about 3 m / m) fig. 2.

3. On the other hand the springs keep the calibration plate (4) fixed on the plate (5) without play which allows, without any adjustment. to be able to use plates of different thickness (4) fig. 2 and fig. 3.

In the closed position, the holes in the calibration plate (4) are blocked by the base plate (5). In the "open" position, the holes in the two plates correspond and the seeds are evacuated naturally.

L'ensemble de ce semoir manuel fig. 3 se pose sur un distributeur fig. 4. The whole of this manual seed drill fig. 3 is placed on a distributor fig. 4. I1 is composed of a plate (9) pierced with a number of holes identical to the seed drill and bordered by a frame to keep the seed drill well centered.

This plate (9) is kept fixed on another plate (I4) by means of four columns (po). This plate (I4) is pierced with the same number of holes and at the same intervals as those of the culture plate.

I. Between the two plates (9p and (I4) plastic tubes are fixed for the flow of seeds in order to channel them into the holes (I) these culture plates Fig. I.

The plate (I4) is mounted on hinges via the bearings (I2) and pins in the holes (13). Between the base (15) and the hinged assembly, the culture plate (I6) is slid which one wishes to sow.

The thickness of the plate (4) fig. 2 and the diameter of the holes are determined according to the size of the seed used.
