Abstract

Cold depilation method which is less painful and does not cause inflammation of the skin, by application of a cold, water-soluble substance without any contra-indication and which takes the form of a ready-to-use paste. This paste is a carbohydrate preparation composed of glucose, maltose, dextrose and polysaccharides, having a dry matter content of between 80.5% and 83.5% and whose viscosity is less than or equal to 100,000 CPS at a temperature of 20 degrees C and less than or equal to 30,000 CPS at a temperature of 30 degrees C. Depilation is carried out mechanically, by applying a strip of rubberised fabric which is then removed by pulling. The tearing-off of the substance previously applied to the skin, by means of the rubberised fabric, is rendered relatively painless by the firmness of the bonding between this material and the substance. Less satisfactory results may, however, be obtained using a strip of thermoplastic resin.
