Abstract

Dual charge munition has a head contg. an auxiliary shaped charge of calibre at least 60mm, a principal hollow charge in the head behind the shaped charge, a proxinity fuse for the auxiliary charge detonating it at least 30 times its calibre from a target and a detonation system for the principal charge retarded by at least 1 msec.. The fuse pref. has light emitters and detectors and the principal charge is pref. of a higher calibre. USE - For a 105 mm or 130 mm armour piercing shell. The shell can pierce active armour.
