Abstract

The invention relates to a device for assembling threads. The threads 2 are held laterally by stitches along their length and they may slide longitudinally with respect to one another, the lateral holding of the threads 2 being produced by the weft threads and the warp threads of a woven strip 3. A single lap of threads covers one face of the strip 3, but provision may also be made for a second lap of continuous threads to cover the opposite face of the strip. The warp threads of the strip are made up of a material which has a low coefficient of friction with the continuous threads 2. Application in the needlework field.

Description

The present invention relates to a device for holding a multiplicity of threads, more particularly cotton threads, for example mercerized cotton, wool, especially darning, threads of synthetic material, such as polyamide, polyester.

Thread assemblies are already known, used more particularly by housewives, for small sewing jobs, such as darning. These assemblies are made up of multiple colored threads to allow the user to choose the color of the thread according to the fabric to be worked. These skeins of thread are commonly sold commercially. They are generally assembled in braiding to form flat braids and allow to draw a thread of the desired color to perform the sewing work. However, when the housewife has used several threads, the braid tends to loosen and the threads are then held loosely.

The more threads the seamstress draws, the more the braiding becomes loose. The threads then tend to get tangled and the whole becomes difficult to use, since it is sometimes necessary to untie knots that have formed in the meantime.

We have tried to remedy these drawbacks by assembling the extreme free parts of the braid using staples. However, this solution which makes it possible to maintain the ends of the wires assembled in braid, does not make it possible to maintain the wires with respect to each other in the middle part of the braid, which has the effect that after the removal of several wires , those that remain tend to get tangled during repeated handling of the wire assembly by the user.

The invention aims to remedy these drawbacks.

An object of the invention is to provide a set of wires
maintained with respect to each other and which can be
independently separated from each other, without the
keeping the remaining wires is affected.

To this end, the invention relates to an assembly of wires
maintained laterally by points along their length and
able to slide longitudinally with respect to
others, the lateral support of the wires being produced by the
warp and weft threads of a woven ribbon, and
more particularly by the grids formed respectively
by two warp threads cooperating with two weft threads.

roughly parallel to each other, a first
layer of threads covering one side of the ribbon, while a
second layer of threads covers the opposite side of the ribbon.

But we can also consider that the support tape is not
covered only on one side.

minus the weft threads of the ribbon are made in one
material which has a low coefficient of friction with
threads kept in tablecloth. Thus, the retained wires can
slide along the weft threads of the support tape when
enter them manually.

According to another embodiment, the weft and
ribbon chain consist of low material
coefficient of friction. For example, warp threads
and weft can all be made of polyester,
polyamide, etc.

Finally to prevent the end parts of the support tape
do not fray, the longitudinal edges of the tape are
welded, which has the effect of blocking the weft threads of the
ribbon.

We therefore choose to produce a ribbon of which at least part of the warp threads are heat-sealed, to block the weft threads and avoid fraying.

The present invention, with reference to the accompanying drawings by way of nonlimiting examples, will make it possible to understand how the invention can be put into practice.

Figure 1 is a general view of the assembly of son on the tape according to the present invention.

Figure 2 is an enlarged view of the structure of the support tape and the son of which an intermediate part has been removed on the upper face of the tape.

According to the invention, a device 1 for holding continuous wires 2 consists of a ribbon 3 of width 1 and of determined length L. The ribbon 3 is a woven fabric comprising weft threads 4 and warp threads 5. These threads 4 and 5 are for example simple, but preferably are double. The continuous threads 2 are for example mercerized cotton threads, and grouped by color. They are held, thanks to the ribbon 3, laterally, in a grid or space 6, formed by a first warp thread 5a and the contiguous warp thread 5b. Thus, the continuous wires, when they are pulled through their free end 7, in the direction of the arrow F1, can slide and slide relative to the support tape.

As each wire 2 is held independently of the neighboring wires, and its opposite free end 8 is not fixed, the wire 2 can be pulled completely, without the other wires 2 being moved.

According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the wires 2 are kept substantially parallel. But it can also be provided that the wires 2 are crossed but still always kept independently of each other.

As seen in Figure 2, a first layer of son 2 is held on one side of the ribbon. These threads are held by the grids 8,9,10,11,12,13,14 which are formed by two warp threads 5a, 5b of the ribbon and by the weft threads 15,15a, 16,16a, 17,17a , 18,19,20,21,21a. The weft threads 15a, 16 being separated by a number x of weft threads, the weft threads 16a, 17 being separated by a number y of weft threads, the weft threads 18,19 being separated by a number z of weft threads and the weft threads 20,21 being separated by a number u of weft threads. For the embodiment shown in Figure 2, we have x = 27, y = z = u = 1.

The couples of sons (15,15a), (16,16a), (17,17a), (17a, 18), (19,19a), (19a, 20), (21,21a) are then couples of contiguous sons.

The wires 2 therefore have a middle part A retained only in the grids (15,15a) and (16,16a) and a weaving formed by the intermediate parts B and C retained respectively by the grids (17,17a), (17a, 18) and (19,19a), (19a, 20); Part A is retained by its ends which are distant from each other, and can easily be grasped to draw the continuous wire.

A second layer of wires 21 covers the opposite face of the ribbon. In FIG. 2, this ply is shown between two wafers of the first ply 2 which remain, while the intermediate wafer has already been removed. It can therefore be seen that the threads of the second ply, placed on the opposite side of the ribbon, have the same arrangement as the continuous threads of the first ply, but these threads are retained by grids which are offset relative to the grids which hold the strands the wires of the opposite tablecloth.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the longitudinal edges 22 and 23 of the tape have been welded.

Thus the weft yarns 24 and 25 end of the ribbon cannot be frayed and it is possible to cut desired lengths of support tape 3 covered with the lower and upper plies of continuous yarns 2.

Preferably, the warp threads 5a, 5b of the support tape 3 are made of a heat-weldable and / or hot-melt material.

Thus the material of the support tape 3 is made of polyester. But it can also be provided that the weft threads of the support tape 3 are made of the same heat-sealable material or of another heat-sealable material. The material of the warp threads and the weft threads of the support tape 3 can also be welded by ultrasound. During the weaving, hot melt threads are incorporated on the selvedge which is then welded, but one can also carry out a hot cutting.

According to another embodiment of the invention, the continuous threads 2 can be of different size and texture. For example, the support tape 3 can hold continuous yarns of wool four times the size of neighboring continuous cotton yarns.

Assembly of continuous wires (2), characterized in that the wires (2) are held laterally in points along their length and that they can slide longitudinally relative to one another, the lateral support of the wires (2) being produced by the warp threads and the weft threads of a woven ribbon (3). 2. An assembly according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that a first ply of son (2) covers one side of the tape (3), while a second ply of continuous son covers the opposite side ribbon. 5. Assembly according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that at least the warp threads of the ribbon (3) are made of a material which has a low coefficient of friction with the continuous threads (2). 6. An assembly according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the warp and weft son of the tape (3) are made of a material with low coefficient of friction with the continuous son. 7. Assembly according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the weft and warp son of the ribbon are made of synthetic material. 8. Assembly according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the longitudinal edges (23,24) are welded.
