Abstract

The invention relates to a device making it possible to release, in the event of snow fall or frost, a straight foot which reinforces the supporting structures of greenhouses and avoids damage to the latter. It consists of two jaws 1, fastened by two arms 3 and 4 to the arch 2. A straight foot 5, fitted with a plate 6, is articulated to the neighbouring arch 7 by means of an assembly consisting of a pin 9 and of a support 8. When, under the action of a vertical force caused by snow or frost, the arch 2 sags slightly, the two jaws 1 move apart and release the straight foot 5 which positions itself just above the ground and supports the arch 7. Replicating this device on all the arches of a greenhouse makes it possible to safeguard all the supporting structures of this greenhouse. The device according to the invention is intended in particular for the market garden industry.
