Device for attaching a link to a support The present invention relates to a device for attaching a link to a support, for example for fixing a mountaineer's rope to a rock.
The aim of the invention is to provide such a device which is easy to assemble and disassemble and which ensures complete safety when it is used, its various elements cannot accidentally separate.
The device forming the subject of the present invention is characterized in that it comprises a member for its attachment to the support, an intermediate member having an opening through which it is mounted on the fixing member and a carabiner hooked on the 'intermediate member and intended to receive the link, the whole being arranged so that the soft queton locks the intermediate member on the fixing member and prevents their separation.
The appended drawing shows, by way of example, five embodiments of the device which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a section of the first embodiment.
Fig. 2 is a plan view corresponding to FIG. 1. FIG. 3 is a view of the second embodiment.
Fig. 4 is a section on 4-4 of FIG. 3. Fig. 5 is an elevational view of the -third embodiment.
Fig. 6 is a section on 6-6 of FIG. 5.
Fig. 7 is a plan view corresponding to FIG. 5.
Fig. 8 is a view of the fourth embodiment.
Fig. 9 is a section on 9-9 of FIG. 8. FIG. 10 is a view of the fifth embodiment.
Fig. 11 is a section on 11-11 of FIG. 10. In the first embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 the device comprises a fixing member constituted by a stud 1, the rod 2 of which is intended to be fixed in a support, a rock for example. The eyebolt 1 further comprises a head 3.
The device also comprises an intermediate member consisting of a tube 4 having a first slot 5 open at its lower end and closed at its upper end, this slot being wider than the rod 2 of the eyebolt but less wide than the head 3. , and a second slot 6 open at its upper end and closed at its lower end. The device also comprises a tone mousque 7 of which a movable part 8 articulated around a pivot 9 is held in the closed position, as shown in FIG. 1, under the action of a res sort not shown.
To assemble the device, we first place the piton 1 in the rock, then we place the tube 4 on the piton, thanks to the slot 5, so that the tube 4 is placed between the head 3 of the piton and the rock . The snap hook 7 is then fixed to the tube 4 by passing it through the bore of the tube and into the slot 6, this operation being possible by opening the snap hook by moving the movable part 8 towards the inside of the snap hook. When the device is thus mounted; the tube 4 rests on the eyebolt 1 by the closed upper end of the slot 5 and the carabiner 7 rests on the lower iron end of the slot 6.
The dimensions of the head 3 of the eyebolt, of the tube 4 and of the carabiner 7 are such that once the device has been mounted as shown in FIG. 1, it is impossible for the tube 4 to leave the piton 1, whatever the intensity and direction of the forces to which the tube is subjected, the queton 7 coming into abutment against the head 3 of the piton to prevent the separation of these organs. The tube 4 can only be removed from the eyebolt 1 by first removing the carabiner 7 from the tube 4, which cannot be done accidentally since the carabiner is normally closed.
Once the device has been mounted, a rope (not shown) can be easily introduced into the carabiner 7 by opening the ring formed by this carabiner at the level of the moving part 8.
It is obvious that in a variant the slot 6 of the tube 4 could be replaced by a hole. The embodiment shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 comprises a fixing member constituted as above by a stud 10 having a rod 11 and a head 12, and intended to be fixed to a support, a rock for example. The device com furthermore takes an intermediate member constituted by a flat profile 13 of rectangular section, folded in Z so as to present a branch 14 intended to be mounted against the support and a branch 15 which will be at a distance from this support.
The profile 13 has a slot 16 having over part of its length a width greater than that of the head 12 of the stud and over the other part of its length a width greater than that of the rod 11 but less than that of the head 12. When the eyebolt 10 is fixed to the support, the profile 13 can be mounted on the rod 11 of the eyebolt. by passing the head of the latter through the widest part of the slot 16 and lowering the profile 13 by so that the narrowest part of the slot 16 surrounds the rod 11 of the eyebolt. A carabiner 17 is hooked to the yarn profile 13 through the widest part of the slot 16.
The third embodiment shown in FIGS. 5 to 7 comprises a peg 18 similar to those shown above. The intermediate member is constituted by a semi-cylindrical section 19 having a slot 20 comprising, like the slot 16 of the second embodiment, a part wider than the head of the stud and a part wider than the rod of the piton but less wide than the head. A carabiner 21 is hooked to the profile 19 through the widest part of the slot 16.
The fourth embodiment shown in FIGS. 8 and 9 comprises a peg 22 similar to those described above. The intermediate member is a flattened tube 23 having a slot 24 of a width slightly greater than that of the rod of the eyebolt over part of its length and of a width greater than that of the head of the eyebolt on the rest. of its length, to allow the tube 23 to be fixed on the eyebolt when the latter is fixed to a support. A snap hook 25 is hooked onto the tube 23 through the bore of the latter.
The fifth embodiment shown in FIGS. 10 and 11 also comprises a stud 26 on which is mounted an intermediate member consisting of a U-shaped profile 27, by means of a slot 28 open at its end cut in the central branch of the profile 27. Holes 29 are drilled in the lateral branches of this section, a snap hook 30 being hooked onto the section 27 through the holes 29. In all the embodiments described, it is impossible to separate the intermediate member from the fixing member when the carabiner is hooked on the intermediate organ.
The relative movement necessary for the separation of these members is prevented, in fact, by the fact that the carabiner abuts against the fixing member, namely against the head of the eyebolt in the embodiments described.
