Abstract

This odour extractor comprises, in order to communicate with the inside of the bowl, the flushing water outlet orifices 4, as well as part of the pipe 2 connecting the tank 3 to the bowl 1. An air extractor 9 is connected to the pipe 2 by a pipe 7 provided with a valve 8 and discharges, either into the outside atmosphere, or into the ventilation conduit, or into the run-off pipe 5 of the bowl.

Description

 The present invention relates to an odor extractor device for toilets and, more particularly, to an odor extractor device for a toilet bowl.

 We currently know various means designed to evacuate the air from the toilets, but which are not completely effective in eliminating odors from the toilet bowl.

 A device is also known which is mounted inside the seat, which has a series of suction orifices and is provided with a switch which closes or opens when a person uses the toilet. . This device fulfills its function, but it is expensive, complicated and difficult to install.

 The object of the invention is therefore to provide a device for the extraction of odors from the toilets of toilets which has none of the above-mentioned drawbacks and which, on the other hand, effectively fulfills its function.

 The subject of the invention is therefore an odor extractor device for a toilet bowl, of the type which comprises an air extractor and which is characterized in that it comprises arranged air suction means inside the bowl and connected by means of a conduit to the suction inlet of said air extractor, the outlet of said air extractor being connected by a hose to a discharge outlet of the sucked air which can be constituted by: the drain pipe of the bowl, the outside atmosphere or a ventilation duct.

 The device according to the invention sucks the odors from inside the bowl, passing through the water outlet orifices provided in this bowl, and through the tank downpipe, or through the valve.

 Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will be better understood on reading the description which follows of an embodiment and with reference to the appended drawing which schematically represents the device according to the invention.

 In this drawing, a conventional installation of a toilet cabinet bowl 1 is shown which communicates with a tank 3 by a flushing pipe 2.

The water discharge holes in the bowl 1 have been indicated by reference 4, the drain pipe being designated by the reference 5.

 By means of a T, indicated in 6, a pipe 7 has been connected to the pipe 2 which is itself connected by a first valve 8 to the suction port of a centrifugal fan 9.

 The outlet 10 of this centrifugal fan 9 is connected to the flow pipe 5 by a second valve 11 and by a pipe 12. It is obvious that this arrangement is also applicable in the cases where a back tank is used or a valve connected to the building's common downpipe.

 The first valve 8 is a non-return valve used to ensure that no water enters the odor extraction device when the button of the reservoir is actuated 3. This valve 8 is especially necessary in cases where the bowl is connected to the general water network of the building, in which the pressure is normally high.

 This first valve 8 may be constituted by a ball of the ball type which has a certain weight so that it is not lifted by the extractor, and whose seat is in the high position.

 The second valve 11 is justified in cases where air is sent to the drain pipe since, if it is discharged outside, there is no risk of odors returning to the inside of the bowl . One can use a ball of the ping-pong ball type, the seat of which is in the low position and by which the valve is normally closed.

 When the extractor 9 is put into action, the air and the odors coming from the interior of the bowl 1 are sucked in through the orifices 4 and, following the path marked by the arrows, they are discharged into the pipe d flow 5.

 It is also obvious that any type of extractor can be used provided that it has sufficient power to suck in the air which is inside the bowl.

 It is also within the scope of the invention to add to the bowl a second inner pipe provided with orifices serving only for suction and which operates independently of the pipe for the arrival of water in the bowl. In this case, the extractor is connected to this second pipe and the first valve 8 is not necessary.

 Of course, various modifications may be made by those skilled in the art to the device which has just been described solely by way of non-limiting example without departing from the scope of the invention.

Claims (7)

 1 - Odor extraction device for toilet bowl, of the type which includes an air extractor, characterized in that it comprises air suction means (4) arranged inside of the bowl and connected by means of a conduit (7) to the suction inlet of said air extractor (9), the outlet of said air extractor being connected by a pipe (12) to a discharge outlet sucked air which can consist of: the drain pipe (5) of the bowl, the outside atmosphere or a ventilation duct.  2 - Device according to claim 1, characterized in that said connecting conduit (7) between the interior of the bowl (1) and the suction inlet comprises a first valve (8).  3 - Device according to claim 1, characterized in that said delivery pipe (12) comprises a second valve (11).  4 - Device according to claim 2, characterized in that said first valve (8) is constituted by a ball whose seat is located in the high position.  5 - Device according to claim 3, characterized in that said second valve (11) is constituted by a ball whose seat is located in the low position.  6 - Device according to claim 1, characterized in that said suction means - (4) arranged inside the bowl (1) are constituted by the water outlet orifices and by the pipe (2) water inlet to the bowl (1).  7 - Device according to claims 2 and 3, characterized in that the first and the second valves (8, 11) are double-acting valves.
