PACKAGING FOR NEEDLES

AND KNITTING HOOKS

  The invention relates to the presentation of knitting needles and hooks and relates to a packaging which, allowing, in the case of needles, to group them at least two by two, has the additional advantage of serving as a display for these needles and hooks. The aim of this packaging is therefore twofold: - to serve, on the one hand, for the storage and classification of needles and hooks, first by the manufacturer, then by the trader and finally by the user, - and serving, on the other hand, to a good presentation of the needles

and hooks for sale.

  This packaging is, for this purpose, constituted by an elongated body made of plastic material which, having a length greater than that of the needles or hooks, comprises, coming from molding, at least two bosses in each of which is arranged at least one longitudinal channel which serves as passage and accommodation for at least one needle or hook and at least two small protrusions which serve

  organs for clipping this needle or hook into this channel.

  The two bosses arranged in the packaging body

  can be of equal or unequal length; and in a forward form

  execution tagger, the boss located near the end of the needles and hooks, on the head side, is of greater length and has a sufficient surface to serve as a receiving area for a label,

  for example an adhesive label.

  According to a preferred embodiment, the body of the condition-

  mement object of the invention ends, beyond the head of needles and hooks, by a generally rectangular profile head whose part

  central unit is drilled to serve for the suspension of the condition-

  needles or hooks to a hanging rod whether or not part of a piece of furniture. The packaging object of the invention plays

  then truly the role of display.

  In addition, in the case of packaging for needles,

  the two bosses of its body each have two parallel channels

  lèles, and the central parts of these two bosses are connected by a central rib which, in combination with two thin longitudinal ribs of the body, delimits two wide channels serving as housings

with both needles.

  In this drawing, (1) designates an elongated body made of molded plastic, advantageously by thermoforming, for example in a resin such as PVC, ABS ... This body (1) has, coming from molding with it: - two ribs longitudinal side (2) having a small thickness, - a central longitudinal rib (3) having a greater thickness, - two bosses (4) and (5) which have a height slightly

  greater than that of the central rib (3) and which are located near

  mite from both ends of the body (1), - and a terminal boss or head (7) which is located at the end

  free from the body (1), from the side of its boss (4).

  The bosses (4), (5) and (7) have a flat upper face and

  have the following features.

  In the boss forming head (7) is arranged a central orifice (8) whose role is to allow the suspension of the body (1), that is to say packaging for needles, to any hooking member,

  for example to a rod whether or not part of a piece of furniture.

  In each of the other two bosses (4) and (5) are arranged two channels (9) which are arranged longitudinally, parallel to one another, and inside each of which project two small protrusions (10) which , coming from molding with the assembly, are, in the case shown in the drawing, offset relative to each other; these protuberances could moreover be in a number greater than two

  inside each channel and be located opposite each other.

  The body thus arranged is used for packaging and presenting

  It goes without saying that the invention is not limited to the sole embodiment of this packaging which has been described above in the particular case of the presentation of two needles; on the contrary, it embraces all the variant embodiments thereof, whatever the number of needles that the packaging is intended to receive, and whether they are needles presented in any number or

  of hooks presented or not to the unit.

Claims (4)

  1 - Packaging for knitting needles and hooks, characterized in that it consists of an elongated body (1) made of plastic material which, having a length greater than that of the needles or hooks (12), comprises, coming from molding , at least two bosses (4, 5) in each of which are arranged at least one longitudinal channel (9) which serves as passage and housing for at least one needle or hook (12) and at least two small protrusions (10) which serve as clips for this needle or hook in this channel (9).   2 - packaging for needles and crochet hooks according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises, at one of its   ends, intended to become the upper end, an additional boss   which constitutes the head of the packaging and in which   an orifice (8) is used for suspending the packaging.   3 - Packaging for knitting needles and hooks according to   claims 1 and 2, characterized in that, in the case of a condi-   tction for needles, the two bosses (4, 5) of its body (1) each have two parallel channels (9), and the central parts of these two bosses (4, 5) are connected by a central rib (3) which , in combination with two thin longitudinal ribs (2) of the   body, delimits two large channels serving as accommodation for the two ai- guilles (12).   4 - Packaging for knitting needles and hooks according to   any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that its   bosses (4, 5) have a flat upper face and in that at least one of them is used as a range for receiving a label, for example adhesive.
