The invention relates to a container for transporting bulk solids, for example in granular, particulate or powder form.

 It applies in particular to containers which are used in agricultural activities, for example for the transport of fertilizers or solid food for livestock.

 The current trend is to replace the bags which are transported by road and / or on a man's back then stored at the user, by bulk handling, the products being received, for transport, in a container from which at the place of use or temporary storage, they are poured into fixed containers, for example silos.

 This trend is particularly pronounced among owners of small farms.

 Currently, for the transport of these products, open metal containers are used which are subjected to various external aggressions, for example rain, rust, pollution, etc., just as they are subjected to aggressions of the contained products, in particular those of fertilizers.

 The object of the invention is to provide an improved container which does not have the above drawbacks.

 For this purpose, the container according to the invention, for the transport of solid materials in bulk, is characterized by the fact that it is constituted by a closed plastic container comprising loading and unloading means.

 Preferably, the plastic material is polyethylene, especially high density, food grade. Also preferably, the reservoir is in one piece and obtained by rotational molding.

 It has been found that a high mechanical resistance and a good quality of flow of solid materials are obtained in the reservoir by giving the latter, in vertical transverse section, an octagonal shape, the reservoir having an upper face and a face lower planes.

 The loading means can be constituted by a door hinged to the upper part of the tank; the loading means may consist of a chute provided at one end of the lower part of the tank, the chute being equipped with a closing valve.

 The tank can be fixedly mounted, but preferably removably, on a vehicle, for example the platform of a trailer.

In this case, the tank is equipped with mounting means on the vehicle, for example crutches.

 The invention will be clearly understood on reading the description which follows and with reference to the appended drawing, the single figure of which is an exploded perspective view of a container established according to a preferred embodiment of the invention.

 The container according to the invention shown in the drawing consists of a closed tank (1) made of plastic material comprising loading means (2) and unloading means (3).

 The tank (1) is preferably made of polyethylene, preferably of high density, and more preferably of food grade, in particular for the transport of livestock feed products.

 The reservoir (1) can be in one piece and, in this case, preferably obtained by rotational molding.

 In the adopted embodiment, the reservoir (I) has, in vertical transverse section, over most of its length, an octagonal shape which defines a planar and horizontal upper face (4) and a lower face (5), and successive lateral facets (6, 7, 8). The front part of the tank (1), which carries the unloading means (3) in the lower part of its front face (15), is of decreasing section to facilitate the flow of products to the unloading means (3), the lower face (5) extending to these.

 For loading the tank, the upper face (4) is equipped with a door (2) which is pivotally mounted around a longitudinal articulation (9).

 The unloading means (3) are of the chute type and comprise a tube (10) which is in communication with the interior of the tank, passing through the front face (15) at its lower part. The tubing (10) is provided with a closing valve (11), for example of the butterfly type, and it receives at its free end an adapter or extension (12) whistle to facilitate the exit of the products.

 The tank (1) thus formed is carried by a vehicle (not shown), for example the platform of a trailer. The mounting, preferably removable, can be carried out using two side stands (13) which are integral with the tank in the upper part of its two vertical facets (7) and which are fixed by their lower part to the floor of the vehicle. .

 To allow the tank to be lifted, the upper end of the stands (13) is axially fitted with a lifting ring (14).

 For loading the tank (1), it is brought under the pouring station, so that the bulk products can enter the tank through the open door (2). When the tank has been loaded, the door is closed and the tank is transported by the vehicle to its place of unloading. When the tank reaches its destination, its rear part, away from the unloading means (3), is tilted upwards, for example by tilting the support platform, and the valve (it) is open, so that the products in bulk flow by gravity out of the tank i through the chute (10). The two side stands (13) then prevent the tank (1) from sliding and / or tilting forward.

 For maintenance work, the loading door (2) also constitutes an inspection door.

 It appears from the above that the container according to the invention, while being simple and inexpensive to manufacture, effectively protects the bulk products which it carries and, by virtue of its constitution, is not altered by environmental assaults.

 In addition, the container in question is light, of the order of -160 kilos for a capacity of 6 m3, therefore easy to load and unload from the trailer bed, without in any case using heavy lifting equipment. .

 Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment, nor to the mode of application which have been described; on the contrary, we could conceive of various variants without departing from its framework.
