Abstract

Production of a container or a cover, which is made as a laminate whose decoration or printing is not in contact with the contents. The present invention relates to the production of a container or a cover from thin heat-meltable films which are assembled at the time of heat forming. The said films can be printed or decorated, but the inks which form the printing or the decoration are not in direct contact with the contents. When the printing or the decoration is not on the external surface, they are seen through the thickness of one of the films, which is transparent in this case. The assembly, performed hot and under pressure, during thermoforming, is carried out directly between films, or between films covered with heat-meltable varnish, or by interposing a heat-bondable (hot-melt adhesive) film between the films. The invention is applicable to containers and to covers used for packaging food.
