Abstract

Novel device for removing deposits accumulated at the tube plate of steam generators of pressurised water nuclear power stations. A system for removing the sludge which can accumulate between the heat exchanger tubes fixed to the tube plate of a steam generator. In brief, the system for removing the sludge comprises a lancing assembly which can move along a guide which is fixed by an adapted flange to the handhole or eyehole and to the central pillar or to the handhole or eyehole diametrically opposite the first by a hydraulically controlled attachment or a flange which is also adapted. The said system is characterised in that the medium pressure lateral driving water injection and low pressure suction assemblies essentially comprise tube assemblies with regulable and adjustable lengths according to the quantity of deposit to be removed and according to the position of the mobile lancing device along its guide and controlled from the same side of the steam generator. The advantage of the said system lies in the fact that the control itself of the lancing is performed remotely, the presence of a single operator is required near the steam generator. In order to clarify the advantage of the said system, the regulation of the tubes for suction and injection of the water for driving the mixture of deposit and water consists in optimising the whole operation for cleaning the tube plate of the said steam generators.

Description

The present invention refers to a new principle for eliminating deposits accumulated at the upper face of the tube plate of a steam generator with a hairpin exchanger tube bundle bundle of water associated with a boiler. Electricity production plant based on fission of uranium and cooled by pressurized light water comprising a device for driving and sucking said deposits adjustable in length and position by direct manual or remote-controlled intervention.

All the annexes to the device which is the subject of this patent, namely pumps, filters and various control and servo systems do not fall under said patent.

If we refer to Figure 1: Figure 1.A. shows a view from above of the tube plate of a steam generator, Figure 1.B. shows a cross section of said region of the steam generator. The description will refer equally to Figures 1.A. and l.B .. During a shutdown of the pressurized water reactor, the steam generator is emptied of its water content and the eye or fist holes 1 and 2 provided for maintenance operations can be opened.

In order to clean the tubular plate 3 of the steam generator, a high-pressure launching device 4 is introduced either through one of the access holes. In the typical arrangement as shown in Figures l.A. and IB, this device is introduced through the fist hole 1 and fixed to the latter by an appropriate flange 5. The launching device proper 6 then moves along a guide 7 whose design details are of secondary importance and do not fall under the present invention except that said launching device is for the good understanding of the present invention capable of sending a jet of high pressure water between the rows 8 of the exchanger tubes and this by oscillation of the launching assembly, this in the case of exchangers in which the tube arrangement pitch is square.

The particularity of the process described and object of the present invention is essentially the relative mobility of the suction and drive elements of the deposits.

The suction and drive elements of the deposits are introduced through the fist or eye hole 2 not used for the introduction of the launching device described above. Said movable elements are a set of flexible pipes 9 and 10 of adjustable length over the entire periphery of the steam generator. The respective positions 11 and 12 of the ends of said pipes are specified by the operator as a function of parameters such as position of the launching device 6 along its guide 7, quantity of deposit to be eliminated, flow rates of the launching, suction and training. Those skilled in the art appreciate and judge the choice of suction and training positions for the smooth running of the operation.

The positioning assembly 13 of the pipes 9 and 10 may advantageously and simply be constituted by a series of rollers with hydraulic control allowing translation of said pipes and stopping them in the chosen positions 11 and 12. The position of the ends 11 and 12 of said pipes can advantageously be identified by any visual system such as external or mechanical marking such as counting the revolutions of a feedback roller or any other simplified use device which does not in principle refer to the present invention but is nevertheless envisaged for the proper conduct of the operation to remove deposits accumulated at the upper face of the tube plate of a steam generator.

The operator will choose to activate the training device or not according to his judgment. The present invention therefore does not favor the respective positions of the ends 11 and 12 of the pipes 9 and 10 for driving and sucking deposits.
