Abstract

THE PRESENT INVENTION CONCERNS AN IMPROVEMENT IN PRESENTATION PACKAGING FOR FOOD PRODUCTS AND MORE PARTICULARLY POULTRY. THE PACKAGING ACCORDING TO THE INVENTION IS IMPROVED BY MEANS OF A BELT ARRANGED AROUND THE ASSEMBLY TRAY-PRODUCT. THIS BELT CONSISTS OF A BOTTOM 1 AND TWO SIDES 2 AND 3 PRE-CUT; IT CONTAINS, IN SIDES 2 AND 3, CUT-OUTS WHICH ALLOW A BETTER VISUALIZATION OF THE PRODUCT. THE BELT IS EXTENDED AT THE UPPER PART BY A GRIP HANDLE SHAPED BY TWO PRECUT 4 HALF HANDLES AND CONNECTED TO SIDES 2 AND 3.

Description

The present invention relates to an improvement to the embolloge of

  presentation of food products, and more

especially voloilles.

  The packaging of food products for presentation and sale generally consists of a tray on which

  is placed the previously packaged product or not and, possibly

  the whole is wrapped in a thin transparent plastic film

  rent. The usual information about the product, that is,

  say the origin, price, etc ... are arranged on a label stuck on the plastic film at the top or on the

flanks of the product.

  The invention aims to improve the presentation of the product by

  offering new possibilities in the provision of information

  customers and by listing the parts of the product that best contribute to customer choice,

  for example, the thighs in the case of a chicken.

  The invention also makes it possible to assemble a product

  packaging and the tray on which it is placed when they have not been placed together under a plastic film

transparent.

  According to a first embodiment of the invention, the packaging is improved by means of a belt disposed around the borette-product assembly. This belt consists of a bottom and two sides precut in a blank said material "food" and it has, in the flanks, cutouts that allow

  a better visualization of a part of the product.

  In the case of a product, like poultry, the belt is immobilized by means of the thighs which protrude through at least one of the cutouts. In the case of the packaging of a product of which no part is likely to protrude, the sidewall is integral with the whole container-product by a point

collage or other.

  The invention also aims to facilitate the gripping of the product

  distribution shelving without prejudicing the usual conditions

  storage. As a result, the belt disposed around the product is extended at the upper part by a gripping handle parallel to the general orientation of the axis of the belted product. Still according to the invention, the belt and the handle are made from a blank made of material known as "food" like cardboard -2- or PVC, having pre-cut lines and grooves of

  folding for a quick volume increase.

  This blank comprises, arranged in line and successively,

  a square or rectangular bottom, and flanks simultaneously constituting

  the side edges of the belt and the handle. For the setting volume the belt is looped around the product and the tray; this looping takes place from a port, by fixing, between them, the two ends of the blank by means of a flap bordering the bottom, and, other port, by the fixing between

  they two flaps formed by cutting the handles.

  The invention will be better understood from the description

  illustrating an example of poultry packaging and using the accompanying drawings in which there is; in FIG. 1, the carton blank before setting volume, in FIG. 2, the complete package comprising the tray, the

  poultry and the belt with his handle.

  As shown in FIG. 1, the blank made of material known as "food" like cardboard or PVC has an elongated shape, like a pre-cut strip whose length corresponds to three or four times the width. The blank comprises a substantially square bottom I and two symmetrical parts each forming the flanks 2 and 3 and the half-handles 4. A creasing line 5 constituting a folding primer separates the bottom of the adjacent flank 2. A second creasing line 6 separates the two symmetrical parts which form the flanks 2 and 3 and the two half-handles 4, arranged on each side and

  other of said crease line 6.

  Flanks 2 and 3 each have cutouts 7 whose shape is adapted to the product. In the case of product like poultry, chicken for example, the dimensions are adapted to the size of the said poultry. The cutouts, fig. 1 and fig. 2, are circular and segmented by a creasing line 8 which corresponds to the folding forecast of the sides 2 and 3 at the edges of the tray supporting the poultry. The cutouts 7 have a surface adapted to the thigh portion that protrudes through said cutouts. The sides 2 and 3 are slightly swollen laterally at the cutouts 7 to maintain a cardboard width sufficiently strong. The handle is formed of two precut pieces 4, which are connected to the sidewalls 2 and 3 by creases 9. The pre-cut U-shaped half-handles 4, generates two robutin 10 connected to the sidewalls 2 and 3 by the same creases 9. These flaps 10 fixed together form the upper loop elements of the sidewalls 2 and 3; inference buckling is performed by means of a flap 11 secured to the bottom 1; this flap 11 is attached to the other end of the cardboard blank,

  that is to say the lower part of the flank 3.

  At the level of the half-handles 4, creases 12 parallel to the grooves 9 ensure a flexibility of the connection area of the side flanks 2 and 3 with the handle. They allow erasing of the handle during storage of the product. Their number may be four or more depending on

dimensions of the handle.

  For setting volume, fig. 2, the tray is iposée, with the product, on the bottom 1 of the blank. Both ends of

  flan are joined by means of flap 11 and the end

  sidewall 3, then tightening, or closing, the

  belt is made by fixing between them, flaps 10.

  The side flanks 2 and 3 follow the contours of the product.

  In the case of a poultry, for example, the thighs protrude through the cuts of said flanks, thus ensuring a locking in translation of the belt relative to the tray

  and showcasing the product through better visualization.

  In the case of another product, of which no part protrudes, the locking of the belt relative to the tray may be

  ensured by a bonding point of the bottom 1.

  The shape of the cutout 7 can also be adapted to

  produced on the one hand and also the type of presentation sought.

  The segmented circular shape can be replaced by an outline

  hexagonal or by a more fanciful outline.

- CLAIMS -   1.- Packaging for foodstuff, of the type consisting of a container receiving the packaged or unpackaged product, all possibly wrapped in a transparent plastic film, characterized in that it consists of a belt arranged around the assembly container-product, this belt consists of a bottom 1 and two flanks 2 and 3 precut in a blank made of material called "food" and it has, in the sides 2 and 3, cutouts 7 for better visualization of the product.   2.- Packaging for food product according to the   cation 1, characterized in that the blank is integral with the whole   tray-produced by a gluing point.   3.- Packaging for food product according to the   cation 1, characterized in that the blank is immobilized by portions of the food product projecting through at least one of the cutouts 7.   4.- Packaging for food product according to one of   Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the belt arranged   around the product is extended to the upper part by a handle consisting of two half-handles 4 secured to the flanks 2 and 3 by creases 9.   5.- Packaging for food product according to the   cation 4, characterized in that the belt is looped around the product by means of a flap 11 secured to the bottom 1 fixed to the lower part of the sidewall 3, and the two flaps 10 fixed together, integral with the sidewalls 2 and 3, these flaps 10 being generated   by precutting the half-handles 4.   6.- Packaging for food product according to one of   Claims 4 or 5, characterized in that the half-handles 4   have creases 12 parallel to the creases 9 which separate   the flanks 2 and 3 of the half-handles 4.
