Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a honeycomb packaging device, of the type used to package, transport or sell, fragile products, such as, for example, eggs or certain fruits.
Each of these two elements can be produced by thermoforming a sheet of synthetic material
It is known that, in packaging and packing factories, the eggs or the like are placed, each in a cell of the tray, after which the whole is capped with the aid of a cover, itself honeycombed, after what, the whole is wrapped in a transparent film of flexible plastic material, which is welded on site. We thus obtain a packaging such that the eggs are ready to be transported to the points of sale.
In practice, the industrial aspect of companies for the raising of chickens and laying hens leads to collecting the eggs at the very moment when they were laid, to pack them and condition them immediately. Thus, these are fresh eggs laid and still hot, which are placed in the alveoli of the packages where they are then locked. It is found that the eggs thus confined in the long term give off water vapor which condenses in the form of a mist, under the upper wall of the lid of the packaging. This upper wall is most often transparent, the mist which deposits there remains visible from the outside.
The presence of this mist trapped in the packaging offers a double disadvantage. First of all, it can affect the good preservation of the eggs. On the other hand, we note that customers tend to turn away from packaging containing steam, to preferably choose packaging that does not contain
The object of the present invention is to avoid these drawbacks, by producing a packaging capable of receiving even freshly laid eggs that are still hot, without however allowing visible fogging to accumulate from the outside.
A honeycomb packaging according to the invention comprises a honeycomb tray, which is surmounted by a cover also provided with alveoli, to cap the eggs to be packed, and it is characterized in that, in the upper part of the cover, are cut out openings located between the cells of the cover, to allow ventilation of the interior space of the cover in particular in the upper areas thereof.
According to another characteristic of one invention, the upper bottoms of the cells are, in the structure of the cover, interconnected by a network of hollow ribs open downwards, the back of which defines the upper part of the cover, the openings of ventilation above being cut in the upper back of the ribs
According to another characteristic of the invention, the entire honeycomb tray and the honeycomb lid containing the eggs is wrapped in a flexible transparent film, on the surface of which are micro-perforations
The appended drawing, given by way of non-limiting example, will allow a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention
Figure 1 is an exploded view, showing in perspective, the various components of a package according to the invention
Figure 2 is a section along II - II (Figure 1), after welding and shrinking in place of the micro-perforated plastic film.
Ainsi , un réseau d'alvéoles 5 est défrini dans le plateau 3 à la manière connue chaque alvéole 5 recevant un oeuf 2.Figure 3 is a similar section, showing, in perspective, the detail of the ventilation openings cut at the top of the cover
There is shown in the drawings, an em
honeycomb 1, for conditioning and packaging
eggs such as 2. This packaging includes a tray
véolé 3, surmounted by a cover 4, defining equal
of the alveoli. The tray 3 and the cover 4 are each made from a sheet of cardboard or thermoformed plastic. Thus, a network of cells 5 is defined in the tray 3 in the known manner, each cell 5 receiving an egg 2.
The sheet formed by the cover 4 also defines cells 6, each intended to cover the top of an egg 2. The upper bottom 7 of each cell 6 has, in known manner, a profile whose concavity is turned downward, which allows it both to position the corresponding egg 2, and to constitute a mechanical damper by slight deformation of the material of the cover 4 if the egg 2 comes to bear against the bottom 7.
Between the cells 6 of the cover 4, are defined, in the known manner, folds 8, which are used to isolate the eggs 2, by separating them from each other, by flexible and deformable walls. The upper bottoms 7 of the cells 6 are interconnected by a network of hollow ribs, each of which has the shape of a gutter, open at the bottom.
The back 11, located at the upper part of each rib 10, defines the upper part of the assembly 17 of the cover 4. The backs 11 are cut along at least one ventilation opening 12. Thus, it can be seen that, over the entire surface of the cover 4, are distributed ventilation openings 12, cut out, each in the highest point of the zone which concerns it.
To complete the packaging, after the eggs 2 have been placed between the tray 3 and its cover 4 (FIG. 2), the assembly is wrapped in a flexible transparent film 13, made of a micro-perforated plastic material. In other words, a very large number of micro-perforations 14 are distributed over the entire surface of the film 13.
The latter is welded onto itself, then, optionally heat-shrunk, so as to immobilize the cover 4 on the plate 3 which it covers
We understand that when we pack eggs 2 still hot, freshly laid, the water vapor they emit in the hours that follow tends to collect under the upper part of the cover 4
from where it escapes towards the outside, first by the ventilation openings 12 of the cover 4, then by the micro perforations 14 of the film 13 which surrounds the assembly, O thus avoiding any accumulation of moisture in the packaging (Figure 2), while the eggs 2 are offered to customers with an impeccable presentation, devoid of any trace of fogging.
