Method for attaching a strip or the like, fitted with catching elements, to an article being moulded, and strip for its implementation. The method for attaching a strip 4 or the like, one face of which is fitted with catching elements 5, to the article being moulded, during the moulding operation itself, in which the strip is temporarily attached to the internal surface 7 of the mould 1, the said catching elements being turned towards the outside of the mould and the strip bearing on the said surface along a peripheral marginal zone free of catching elements, is characterised in that, between the internal surface 7 of the mould and the face of the strip carrying the said catching elements, a thin continuous protective film 17 is deposited which covers the catching elements 5 and which extends as far as the said marginal zone, the protective film being made from a material which degrades at a temperature above that at which the moulded product is physically and chemically stabilised. Application especially to moulded articles made of foam for the seating parts or backrests of motor-vehicle seats to be covered with a covering.
