Abstract
Description
The invention relates, in accordance with the main patent, to an installation for spraying soil treatment products, in particular phytopharmaceutical products in liquid form sprayed in mist by supplying compressed air into the spray nozzles.
According to this patent, the installation consists pri.ncipaleme.nt of a tank of liquid to be sprayed in relation on the one hand with the nozzles of the spreading boom and on the other hand, with an air tank tablet supplied by a compressor, said reservoir itself being connected to the nozzles so that the liquid and air flows which converge towards the outlet orifice of the nozzles mix to create a mist of fine droplets conveyed by the air
The major drawback of this type of installation lies in its high energy consumption due in particular to the air compressor hitherto used. Furthermore, this installation does not allow the flow rate of the spreading boom to be adjusted. according to its speed of movement, which varies according to the soft or hard nature of the ground. Finally, there is no device allowing an automatic stop of the flow of the nozzles when the installation stops.
One of the essential aims of the invention is to replace the air compressor, provided for in the main patent, with a simple air generator driven by a hydraulic motor supplied directly by the tractor's hydraulic circuit and to interpose between the spreading boom and the tank of liquid to spray a metering device allowing to regulate the flow of the boom in proportion to the speed of the tractor
The spraying installation therefore consists, in accordance with the main patent, on the one hand, of a tank containing the liquid to be sprayed associated with means for the transfer of this product from the tank to the nozzles of a spreading boom , on the other hand, an air compressor device delivering low pressure air to the nozzles to fragment and spray the liquid coming from the reservoir into fine droplets, this installation being characterized in that the means for transferring said liquid are constituted by a positive displacement pump whose flow rate in the boom is proportional to the speed of movement of the installation, the comX air pressure device being constituted by a generator with adjustable pressure driven by a hydraulic motor directly connected to the hydraulic system of the tractor to which the spraying system is coupled.
According to a characteristic of the invention, the positive displacement pump connected to the liquid reservoir and to the spreading ram is controlled by a wheel treated in contact with the ground and to which it is coupled by adjustable transmission members.

- Fig.2 is a schematic view illustrating an automatic arming device for the flow of the nozzles of the spreading boom.
According to the xealization mode illustrated in FIG. 1, the spraying installation, object of the invention, is provided to the three-point system of a tractor vehicle, shown diagrammatically at 52, this installation essentially consisting of a ramp d spreading 52, of a capacity or reservoir 53 containing the liquid to be pulverized, of an air generator 54 driven by a hydraulic motor 55 and finally of a device 56 interposed between the spreading ramp and the storage tank to adjust the spreading rate of said boom.
In detail, the device 56 consists of a volumetric metering pump 57 driven by an independent wheel 58, this being able, for example, between the trailing wheel of a seed drill if the spraying installation is coupled to such an apparatus agricultural. This wheel, freely in contact with the ground, is coupled to the metering pump 57 by transmission means, for example an endless chain 59. This loop-shaped chain meshes, on the one hand, with one of the pinions of a stack 60 wedged on the axis 61 of the trailing wheel 58, and, on the other hand, on at least one of the pinions of another stack-62 wedged, meanwhile, on the shaft of output 63 of the dosing pump. This chain can, if necessary, pass over a return sprocket and be fitted with a tensioning device making it possible to select different sprocket ratios, b in the manner of a bacyclette derailleur, so so that the operator can select the speed of rotation of the dosing pump 57-. This adjustment of the chain on any one of the pinions of differentiated diameters of the two stacks 60.62 ages is done liarrdt, before the operation of the installation.
The positive displacement pump 57 is connected, on the one hand, to the liquid tank 53 by a supply duct 64 and, on the other hand, 9 the spreading ramp 52 by a leaent or transfer duct 65. Thus , the speed of rotation of the trailing wheel and the gear ratio chosen detean.eront the speed of rotation of the positive displacement pump 57 and, consequently, the flow of the product is conveyed to the ramp by the discharge conduit 65. In this way, the flow rate of the nozzles of the spreading ramp will be proportional to the forward speed of the tractor, which can vary during the same journey depending on the nature of the terrain encountered and the degree of wheel slip. tractor drive.
The air blown into the spreading ramp 52 is now produced by an air generator 54 controlled by a hydraulic motor 55 which can be adapted instantly on any tractor fitted with an auxiliary oil intake. This generator is usually provided with a manually operated valve making it possible to adjust the pressure of the air introduced into the manifold, this air being, in any event, at low pressure (less than one bar).
The spreading boom 52 consists essentially of two parallel tubes 66, 67, oriented perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tractors, one of these tubes, for example the tube 66, being connected to the discharge conduit 65 of the pump metering 57, the other tube 67 being i luio connected to the outlet of the air generator 54. Each of the nozzles '68, staggered over the entire length of the spreading boom 52, is put into simultaneous relation with the two ducts 66, 67 of air and liquid supply by lateral connections 69 both communicating with the nozzle body, - as illustrated in fig. 2 of the main patent. Thus, the compressed air and the pressurized liquid converge towards the outlet of the nozzles, which results in a spray of fine droplets similar to a cloud. Given the volatile nature of this cloud, the ramp is provided with a protective cover 70 in the form of a funnel extending from the supply tubes 66,67 towards the ground, without however touching it. This cover thus makes it possible to avoid partial dispersion of the pulvdrisd product following gusts of wind.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the spreading boom 52 is provided with a device for automatically closing the nozzles so that their flow is interrupted instantaneously when the installation is stopped. This device consists essentially of. profiles 71, in the form of a rule, extending above the nozzles, these being in abutment on the nozzle needle of the nozzles 68 and being subjected to the action of one or more jacks 72 supplied by the hydraulic circuit of the tractor .In this way, the operator can, from the dashboard of the tractor, order the instantaneous closing of the nozzles by sending pressure into the jacks 72, which generates the descent of their pistons in the direction of the rules 71 in order to drive cells -this (which dreams of pressing the needle point screws of the nozzles) towards the ground.-A rule 71 may be common to all the nozzles, or, if necessary, several. aligned rules can command the closing of a series of nozzles corresponding to a section of the spreading boom. Each nozzle can be beech fitted with a return spring 73 recalling the rule 71 in the high position when the pressure is released in the jacks 72. This device has the advantage of avoiding, during the stopping of the installation, the flow of the product residue contained in the circuits. Indeed, the rule, by pushing the needles of the nozzles, closes the product inlet orifice thus opposing the free passage of the liquid towards the outlet orifice of said nozzles.
The spreading ramp comprises, by wingers, at one end of the tube 66, a three-way valve controlled from the seat of the tractor, this valve making it possible to recycle the liquid in the circuits of the installation psldant the transport.
Indeed, it suffices to relate the liquid reservoir and the boom, the nozzles being closed by the automatic closing device to obtain permanent recycling of the product during transport, so as, on the one hand, to avoid any clogging of the product and, on the other hand, that the installation is - immediately operational when it arrives at the place of operation. The improvements according to this addition thus make it possible to operate the installation under the best conditions. on the one hand by a precise dosage of the liquid to be spread, on the other hand, by a significant reduction in the operating cost thanks to the air generator and to the protective cover which prevents the loss of the product. the reservoir 53, which in the example considered, is located on the front part of the tractor can be fixed directly to the spraying installation located downstream of the tractor in order to allow a shorter route for the liquids to be sprayed. Finally, this spraying installation can be coupled to any agricultural device intended for working the soil, so as to simultaneously allow spraying and, for example, sowing or other similar operation. This new hydro-pneumatic spraying technique is insensitive to wind, proportional to the advancement and has a great operating autonomy since consumption is around 8 liters of product per hectare, said product being able to be in wettable pulverulent form.
