Abstract

Light box. Lit picture (portrait), according to the main patent of the type formed by a light box 1 provided with at least one incandescent electric light 10 and whose bottom 2 consists of a reflecting surface, the said light box having an opening masked by at least one glazed front wall 22 intended to support an image to be lit, characterised in that the glazed front wall 22 is mounted so as to slide in guides of the said box 1.

Description

 The present invention relates to improvements and modifications to the subject matter of the main patent.

 In the main patent, a light portrait has been described comprising a light box comprising an electric light source, means for supporting a flat object to be illuminated, for example, a photograph, and arranged opposite an opening of the box, the latter comprising a reflective interior surface, while the light source is constituted by at least one incandescent lamp.

 Such an embodiment is inexpensive, of a very simple construction and therefore makes it possible to obtain an inexpensive object finding numerous applications.

 In the embodiment described in the main patent, a hinged cover was provided on the light box, said cover having a central opening provided with a rebate intended to receive two panes between which the image to be illuminated can be inserted, the panes being held by a hinged frame on the cover.

 Such an embodiment, although very practical, is quite complex and the present addition seeks modifications tending to simplify such manufacture.

 The light portrait, according to the present addition, is of the type described in the main patent and formed of a light box provided with at least one incandescent electric lamp and of which, at least, the bottom is constituted by a reflective surface , said light box having an opening masked by at least one glazed front wall intended to support an image to be illuminated and said light portrait being characterized in that the glazed front wall is slidably mounted in guides of said box.

Thanks to this characteristic, a simpler and much less expensive device can be produced than that of the main patent since the various hinges provided in the embodiment described in said main patent are omitted.
According to a constructive characteristic, the light box comprises two side walls each provided with a flange, an upper end wall of a width less than that of the side walls and a lower end wall also provided with a flange, the flanges being located in the same plane, the bottom comprising two leaf springs cooperating with the flanges of the side walls and the front wall comprising two panes intended to be inserted between the spring blades and the flanges.

 According to yet another constructive characteristic, the panes are pinched by an edge between the wings of a U-shaped profile, one of the wings of which is intended to form, with the other edges, a frame.

 In order to ensure an effective fixing without risking breaking the panes, an elastic organ is inserted between the wings of the U-shaped profile and the corresponding edges of the panes.

 Finally, according to a last characteristic, the electric lamps are supported by sockets fixed on legs cut out from the bottom.

 The invention will now be described in more detail with reference to a particular embodiment, given by way of example only and shown in the single figure which is an exploded perspective view of a device according to one invention.

 The device shown in the figure comprises a body 1 having a bottom 2, two side walls 3 and 4 and two end walls 5 and 6. The internal surface of the body 1 is reflective, the latter preferably being made of aluminum.

 The bottom 2 has two legs 7 and 8 which are cut in its surface and folded to form supports for elastic sockets 9 each intended to receive an in-candescence lamp 10.

 The sockets are electrically connected to flexible conductors Tl comprising a switch 12 and a male plug 13 intended to be engaged on an outlet from a distribution network.

 The bottom 2 and the wall 5 are respectively drilled with holes 14 and 15 to allow air circulation.

 The walls 3, 4 and 6 are folded to have a rim 17, 18 and 19 respectively, said flanges being located in the same plane, while the free edge of the wall 5 has a rim 20 offset relative to the plane of the flanges 17 , 18 and 19 by a distance corresponding substantially to the thickness of a front wall 22.

 The front wall 22 is formed by two panes 23 and 24 between which one can insert a sheet intended to constitute the image to be lit. This hardwood can be constituted by a photograph, an image, a slide photograph, a drawing or other.

 The panes 23 and 24 are engaged by one of their edges between the wings 26 and 27 of a profile 28, a pressure member such as an elastic metal band 30 or a rubber band being inserted between the one of the wings of the profile and the windows 23 and 24 in order to ensure the fixing of the profile without risking breaking the windows.

 On the bottom 2, facing the rim 18, is fixed by rivets 31, an elastic metal band 32 folded in the form of an elongated ring so as to present a part 33 applied against the rim 18 which forms a spring.

 A second elastic metal strip 32a is provided, facing the rim 17 and identical to the strip 32.

 The device can be suspended, hung against a wall and the bottom 2 is provided, for this purpose, with a hole 35.

 The device can also be placed on a table and it can be fitted with a removable base formed by a simple U-shaped bar 36 whose branches 37 and 38 pass through corresponding holes 39 and 40 in the bottom 2, these branches being applied against the wall 6 by the strips 32 and 32a.

 The front wall 22 is slid between the strips 32 and 32a and the flanges 17, 18 and 19. The wing 27 of the profile 28 has a width corresponding to the flanges 17, 18 and 19 and forms with them a frame.

 We understand that we can easily change the image and possibly replace a lamp 10.

 Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment which has just been described and shown. Many modifications of details can be made without departing from the scope of the invention.

RESELL I CATI0N & 1 - Bright portrait; according to claim 1 of the main patent, of the type formed by a light boot (1) provided with at least one incandescent electric lamp (10) and of which, at least, the bottom (2) is constituted by a reflecting surface, said light boot having an opening masked by at least one glazed front wall (22) intended to support an image to be illuminated, characterized in that the glazed front wall (22) is slidably mounted in guides of said boot (1). 2 * - Light portrait, according to claim 1, ca acterized in that the light boot has two side walls (3,4) each provided with a flange (17,18), an upper end wall (5) d '' a width less than that of the side walls and a bottom end wall (6) also provided with a flange (19), the flanges being located in the same plane, the bottom (2) comprising two leaf springs (32, 32a) cooperating with the flanges (17, 18) of the side walls and the front wall (22) comprising two panes (23, 24) intended to be inserted between the spring blades (32, 32a) and the flanges (17, 18, 19). 30- Light portrait, according to claim 2, characterized in that the panes (23, 24) are pinched by an edge between the wings of a U-shaped section (28) one of the wings of which is intended to form with the other edges (17, 18, 19) a frame. 40- Light portrait, according to claim 3, characterized in that an elastic member (30) is inserted between the wings of the U-shaped section (28) and the corresponding edges of the panes (23, 24).  50- light portrait, according to claim 1, characterized in that the electric lamps (10) are supported by sockets fixed on legs (8) cut in the bottom (2).
