Abstract

The furniture door hinge incorporates sub-hinges at the head and foot, using a spacer to connect the sub-hinges and prevent demounting when the door is closed. Each sub-hinge comprises a hook type fitting supporting an eye tip fitting using rigidly connected perpendicular screws to fix each fitting to the door or the frame. The spacer may house onto the upper fitting of the lower sub-hinge, and has a tongue which houses into the lower fitting of the upper sub-hinge. A screw or similar may secure the tongue and may be inaccessible when the door is closed. Alternatively spring loaded sliding retractable locking pins may be incorporated in the top and the bottom of the spacer, retract to allow the spacer to be mounted, and emerge into hollows to lock the spacer in position.
