Abstract
Description
It is known that due to the dangerous nature of the solvents used, the closed cabins intended for painting and spray painting works are subject to strict regulations with regard to mechanical ventilation. Not only must fresh air be blown into the cabin and extract polluted air from it, but also this blowing and this extraction must be carried out at minimum minimum tria flow rates, which obviously involves high energy costs, especially if you take into account that the supply air must be preheated for certain works
The energy problem takes on particular importance when it comes to paint booths intended for the treatment of large-volume parts, such as, for example, motor vehicles and similar machines. It can be noted that many industrial companies are shrinking before the investment to be considered, so that the working conditions of the operators are very precarious and remain dangerous
It is this drawback that the present invention intends to remedy, and this by providing the cabin with a fractional ventilation system which makes it possible to limit the supply of fresh air and the extraction of polluted air to the single zone in which the paint is sprayed, which zone moves as the work progresses
The invention consists mainly in dividing the interior space of the cabin into a series of communicating compartments which are connected to the blowing and extraction installations through shutter devices controlled in succession when the spraying machine is moved. paint
Furthermore and in order to avoid any risk of omitting the ventilation control in the case of manual spraying, each compartment is made to have separate lighting means, the actuation of which is coupled with that of the ventilation to make practically impossible any spraying work which is not preceded by the adequate control of ventilation
The appended drawing, given as an example, will allow a better understanding of the invention, the characteristics which it presents and the advantages which it is likely to provide.
Fig. 1 is a schematic vertical section of a paint booth established in accordance with the present invention.
1. Fig. 2 to 4 are diagrams showing the operation and use of the cabin according to fig. 1.
The cabin shown in fig. 1 has been assumed to be constituted by the assembly of a series of juxtaposed cells, each of which comprises a ceiling, a floor and two opposite side walls so that said cells communicate freely with each other to determine a continuous volume. The perforated upper part of each cell is equipped with an independent blowing box 1 connected by a vertical pipe 2 to a common pipe 3, which is supplied with fresh air under pressure by a motor-fan 4; on each pipe 1 is mounted a shutter 5 with electric, pneumatic or hydraulic control.
In the same way, there is provided below the perforated floor of each cell a pit 6 connected by a tube 7 to a common extraction duct 8 equipped with a motor-fan group 9. On each tube 7 is mounted an independent shutter 10 operated in the same way as the upper air shutters 5.
It should be observed that each cell contains an independent lighting system, which in the embodiment considered includes two light sources 11 provided in the upper part of the envisaged cell, and a lower light source 11 ′. The control of this lighting system is coupled with that of the shutters 5 and 10 of the correspondence cell.
It can be seen that a cabin is thus produced, the interior space of which is divided into a series of independent compartments referenced A, B, C, etc., each of said compartments being provided with a ventilation system and a ventilation system. their own lighting. These compartments communicate freely with each other, the two end compartments being separated from the external atmosphere by mechanical curtains 12 of known type, which allow the entry and exit of the material to be painted or varnished.
In the embodiment envisaged, it has been assumed that the different compartments of the paint booth were grouped in pairs. The ventilation and lighting systems of compartments A and B are controlled in synchronism using a single switch 13 arranged at the junction of said compartments; in the same way the systems of compartments B and C are coupled by being actuated by means of a switch 13 placed between said compartments, and so on.
The diagrams in fig. 2 to 4 illustrate the use of such a cabin for the painting, by one or two operators, of the whole body V of a motor vehicle of great length such as a coach, suitable for occupying the first four compartments A to D of the cabin in question.
The operators first operate the switch 13 which is located on the left most in fig. 2, so that it is the ventilation and lighting systems of the two compartments A and B which are simultaneously supplied. Due to its reduced volume, the area
AB thus delimited can be subjected to a very intense ventilation, without it being necessary to provide a great power for groups 4 and 9. One realizes in this way, in. optimal safety conditions, painting the part of the body V which occupies the abovementioned AB area.
3).In practice, the operator cannot go beyond this area AB and enter, either voluntarily or inadvertently, inside the compartment
C since it is not lit: it is essential that it operates the second switch 13 (placed between compartments B and C) beforehand, which has the effect of stopping ventilation and lighting in the compartment A and simultaneously operate the ventilation and lighting systems in the BC area (fig. 3).
The part of the body V which occupies the two compartments B and C is then capable of being painted.
Of course, the operation is continued and completed at the level of the area C-I) (FIG. 4), by operating the switch 13 provided between the compartments C and D.
It goes without saying that, depending on requirements, a variable number of cabin compartments can be grouped as long as a safety zone is determined, the volume of which is related to the power of the air blowing installation. fresh air and polluted air extraction. In addition, the actuation of the switches 13 is capable of being operated by the spraying robot in the paint booths with automatic operation.
It should moreover be understood that the above description has been given only by way of example and that it in no way limits the field of the invention from which one would not depart by replacing the execution details described by all other equivalents.
