Abstract

The fire extinguisher takes the form of a bottle with a concave bottom 8. An orifice 7 is formed in this bottom and there is accommodated therein a housing 1 in which a shutoff element 6 closes the orifice 7. The housing 1 comprises holes 11, 11' whose axes are perpendicular to the axis of the orifice 7. When the shutoff element 6 is moved away, the gas escapes through the holes 11, 11' and strikes the bottom 8 to form a jet with an opening angle of approximately 60 DEG .
