Abstract

The postcard has a cardboard support (2), the reverse face of which has a case (3) for addresses. The support has an opening (4) over part of its surface. A decorative card (5), slightly larger than the opening, presses on the support to cover the opening. A covering film (6) of transparent synthetic material is placed on the rear of the support and on the card to press on it. Along one edge is an elongation formed by a strip, separated by a partially precut line.

Description

"Post card"
The present invention relates to a postcard.

 Traditional postcards include a decorated first face or front, comprising a drawing or a photograph, and a second face or back intended to receive the recipient's contact details and the various postal information required, and a possible message. However, the decorative part of the postcard remains permanently associated with it and the message, which limits its possibilities of use as an independent decoration, or as part of a collection by the recipient.

There are also decorative or humorous cards, made of a synthetic material such as polyvinyl chloride and which lend themselves particularly well to building collections
However, these cards are not easy to send by post1 because they need to be put in an envelope whose format does not generally correspond to that of the card.

 The same problem arises for other decorative media such as photographs, which must be transmitted in an envelope.

The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks
For this purpose, the postcard it concerns includes in combination
- a cardboard support, the reverse side of which comprises, in a known manner, a box intended to receive the recipient's contact details and the various postal indications required, this cardboard support having an opening on part of its surface,
a decorative card of dimensions slightly greater than those of the opening, coming to bear on the front face of the support so as to close off said opening and,
- a covering film of transparent synthetic material, deposited on the front side of the support, and on the card bearing against it.

 The synthetic covering film secures the cardboard support and the card, so that these two elements form a unitary assembly. The advantage of this postcard is to allow perfect visibility of the decorative card, both on its front side, which includes a drawing and a beginning of message, as on its back side where possibly the continuation of the message of the front side , and where the sender can sign. In the case where the card consists of a photograph, this will be perfectly visible under the transparent film, a legend may appear on the back, and between read by the opening presented by the support.

 Under the opening presented by the support, it is possible for the user to write a text of a few lines on the back side. The user fills in the address of his recipient, franks the postcard, and the post office.

 Upon receipt, the recipient can either keep the postcard as he received it, or detach the decorative card to keep only the latter, and discard the cardboard support.

 This arrangement has the advantage that a decorative card or photograph can be sent without the need to put it in an envelope, thanks to the creation of a set of postal format, on which it is also possible to add handwritten text.

 According to another characteristic of the invention, the postcard is extended along one of its edges by a strip from which it is separated by a pre-cut line.

 This strip carries the various indications relating to the use of the postcard, and is detached from this behind by the user, before being sent to the recipients.

 In any case, the invention will be clearly understood with the aid of the description which follows with reference to the appended diagrammatic drawing representing, by way of nonlimiting example, an embodiment of this postcard.

 The postcard shown in the drawing includes a cardboard support (2) in the format of traditional postcards, that is to say of 148 x 112 mm. This cardboard support comprises on the right side of its back side an area (3) intended to receive the recipient's address, as well as a postmark. The cardboard support comprises a cutout opening an opening (4) with a dimension of 80 X 50 mm. This through opening is formed in the left part of the cardboard support, when the latter is seen from the back. The opening (4) is intended to be closed by a card (5) in polyvinyl chloride of a format of 85 X 54 mm, and which comes to apply on the front face of the cardboard support (2). As shown in particular in Figure 2, which is a cross-sectional view of the postcard, the front side of the cardboard support (2), as well as the card (5) resting thereon, are covered by a film (6) of transparent synthetic material, securing the support (2) and the card (5). The card (5) comprises on its recto side a drawing, or a photographic reproduction, and on its verso side, the complement of the text possibly appearing on the recto side, as well as a box (7) intended to receive the signature of the 'sender.

 On the back side the cardboard support has below the opening (4), two lines (8) intended to receive a text to be written by the sender.

 The cardboard support is extended at its upper edge by a strip (9), from which it is separated by a pre-cut line (10). This strip (9) is intended to receive the indications necessary for the use of the postcard, and is detached from the latter before sending it to the addressee.

 From a practical point of view, after the sender has filled in box (3) receiving the addressee's address, affixed his signature in box (7) on the back of the card (5 !, and possibly filled in the lines (8) using a few words of text, the postcard is sent to the recipient, who can either keep it as it is, or on the contrary, and as shown in figure (3), separate the card (5) from the cardboard support, so as to keep only the single card (5), for example for making a collection.

 As appears from the above, the invention brings a great improvement to the existing technique, by providing a postcard of simple design, allowing ltenvoi decorative elements, without having to place them in an envelope, while allowing their recovery regardless of the medium with which they are associated for the mailing.

 It goes without saying that the invention is not limited to the sole embodiment of this postcard, described above by way of example; on the contrary, it embraces all of its variant embodiments.

 Thus, in particular, the decorative element could not consist of a polyvinyl chloride card, but of a photograph or any other element without departing from the scope of the invention.

- CLAIMS  1. - Postcard, characterized in that it comprises in combination - a cardboard support (2) the reverse side of which includes known hinge a box (3) intended to receive the recipient's contact details and the various required postal indications, this cardboard support having an opening (4) on a part of its surface, - a decorative card (5) of dimensions slightly greater than those of the opening, coming to bear on the front face of the support (2) so as to close the said opening and, - a covering film (6) made of transparent synthetic material, deposited on the front face of the support, and on the card bearing against it.  2. - Postcard according to claim 1, characterized in that it is extended along one of its edges by a strip (9) from which it is separated by a precut line (10).
