Abstract

1. A process for scouring kitchen utensils such as saucepans, dishes, recipients and accessories and components of stoves and cookers, characterized in that the utensils (6) and/or accessories to be scoured are placed in an enclosure (1), together with a mass (5) of siliceous grains, and this enclosure is heated at a temperature of the order of 300 to 350 degrees C and during a period from four to seven hours, by means of a combustible gas such as propane, the mass (5) of siliceous grains being placed in a tray (4) on which are placed the utensils (6) and/or accessories to be scoured or in or on the utensils and/or accessories to be scoured.
