Abstract

The bottle top cum (1) stopper (6) is double walled and has a detachable seal in the form of a strip (5) running round the bottom edge of the outer wall (4). The inner wall (3) is equipped (8) to fasten onto the bottle whilst the strip and the corresponding area of the bottle wall have complementary interlocking profiles. The arrangement ensures that the top cannot be removed unless the strip is first detached, the interlocking joint using a lip (15) on the inside of the strip in conjunction with a rib (12) or a stepping in of the bottle wall. The boundary between the outer wall and the strip is formed by a weakness (20) in the wall.
