Abstract

The appliance for washing or massaging the back of the body can be fixed to a partition or wall of the shower or bath cubicle. It consists of a fixed frame (1) and a double, mobile frame (3) which can be moved vertically, and manually controlled. The mobile frame has fixtures for a towel (7) and massage. The wall frame consists of two vertical, side uprights (1a,1b) of U shape forming slide rails for the double mobile frame. The double frame consists of a first U shaped sectioned frame (3a) with wheel axles (2), and a second frame (3b) made of angled sections onto which is soldered a front plate (3c) for the towel (7).

The present invention relates to mechanical devices used for body care and toilet.

 I1 is known the difficulty of intervening yourself on the entire surface of the back by means of a sponge or a washcloth, the most difficult area is accentuated with the rise in age of the individual. For this purpose there are sponge brushes or supports provided with a sufficiently long handle and the material of which the components have a certain flexibility in order to allow maximum contact of the brush or the sponge with the skin.

If this solution partially solves the problem posed, it nevertheless has the disadvantage of quickly causing fatigue of the arm, the latter being in the folded back position, elbow raised, position conducive to muscle cramps.

 The apparatus according to the invention makes it possible to avoid these drawbacks.

This allows indeed a global intervention on the entire surface of the back by alternating vertical translation controlled manually.

 The device object of the invention, consists of a wall frame which can be fixed in a removable way on one of the partitions bordering a shower or bathtub receiver. This frame comprises, on its two vertical sides, two sliding slides produced by means of U-shaped profiles playing the role of guide rail in order to allow a translation of a double movable frame provided with rollers. On the external face of this double frame is mounted a device for fixing and tensioning a towel.

An operating lever articulated around a fixed point of the Gural frame acts on the mobile frame at a point located on the middle: of its lower base in order to avoid any wobbling of said mobile frame in the slides of the fixed frame during its translation.

 The accompanying drawing illustrates, by way of example, an embodiment of the apparatus according to the present invention, seen in perspective.

 As shown, the device consists of a wall frame 1 which can be fixed on one of the walls of a bathroom above a shower or bathtub receiver. This frame consists of two vertical uprights 1a and 1b produced by means of U-shaped profiles so as to constitute two slideways or guide rails, which uprights are joined at the head and in the lower part by cross-members read and 1c. In these slides 1a and 1b are housed four rolling rollers 2 supporting a double movable frame 3, composed on the one hand of a first frame 3a produced in U-shaped sections vertically and comprising the said rollers 2 in the U-shaped angles, and on the other hand a second frame 3b made up of angle sections on which is welded a front panel 3c, the maintenance of the frames 3a and 3b according to a certain spacing being ensured by means of spacer tabs 4. The frame 3b carries at the bottom and disposed parallel to it a cylinder 5 lined with a bar, the spacing of which makes it possible, according to a known method, to fix the lower edge of a terry towel 7. The same fixing device also comprising a cylinder 8 and a bar 9 is mounted in the upper part of the frame 3b and parallel to it: this device is supported at each end on a lever 10 whose rotation about a horizontal axis li using an operating lever 12 secured to one of s levers 10 allows tensioning of the towel. A locking device of known type ensures the locked position of the lever. The control in vertical translation of the movable double frame on the wall frame is effected by means of a lever 13 one of whose ends oscillates around d 'a horizontal axis 14 secured to a wall frame, the centrAge and the locking of this axis 14 being effected by a cone 15 and locked by a pin 16; and the other end of which ensures the connection of the lever with an operating rod 17 fitted with a handle 18. The moving frame of the movable frame from the angular movement of the lever is effected by means of a double plate with oblong cutout 19 welded to the low horizontal crossbar of the frame 3a middle part of the lever and in which an axis 20 passes through the oblong plate 19 and the lever 13 a stop 21 makes the lever stop in the low position of the movable frame.

 The entire frame 3a and 3b can be uncoupled from the wall frame outside periods of use. A terry cloth can be replaced with a canvas of any other nature with a different texture or roughness, for example to perform massage operations.

 The invention is in no way limited to the specially indicated embodiment but it admits all possible variations provided that these are not in contradiction with the subject of each of the claims annexed to this description page.

 The device which is the subject of the invention can be used for all body care treatments, as well as for massage finishing operations.

Claims (5)

REYENDICATIONS  1- Device intended for personal care, friction or massage of the dorsal surface which can be removably adapted to one of the partitions bordering a shower or bath receiver, characterized in that it is composed of a fixed wall frame and a double frame movable in vertical translation by manual control, which movable frame peddles means of fixing and tensioning a terry towel or fabric of texture or roughness suitable for said operations of friction or massage.  2- Apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that the wall frame is composed of two lateral vertical uprights made of U-shaped profiles carrying slides or guide rails in alternating vertical translation of the double movable frame.  3- Apparatus according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the movable double frame consists on the one hand of a first frame in U-shaped profiles and angles provided with pins carrying rollers and on the other hand a second frame in angle sections on which a front sheet is welded to which the towel or the friction or massage cloth is applied, which frames are interconnected and kept apart by means of spacer tabs.  4- Apparatus according to claims 1, 2 and 3 taken together, characterized in that the movable frame comprising the front panel is equipped at the top and bottom of a device for fixing the towel or canvas, which device consists of a cylinder lined with a bar arranged parallel to the upper crosspieces: rear and bottom of the frame. One of the two devices being mounted at each end on a lever pivoting about a horizontal axis under the action of a blocking control lever in the locked position allowing the tensioning of the towel or the canvas.  5- Apparatus according to claims 1, 2, 3 and 4, taken together, characterized in that the alternating vertical movement of the double movable frame is obtained by means of a lever, one of the ends of which oscillates around a horizontal axis integral with the wall frame, the centering and locking of this axis being effected by a cone and locked by a pin and ddnt the other end is connected by means of a rod to an operating rod provided with a handle, l drive in translation of the double movable frame from the angular displacement of the lever being effected by means of a plate with oblong cutout welded to the low horizontal crosspiece of the movable lower frame, middle part of the lever and in which an axis passes through the oblong plate as well as the lever. A stop makes the lever stop for the low position of the movable frame.
