Abstract

The light fitting has two hollow end caps (16,16') each having a flat bottom (34) by which the cap is fixed to the walls (64,72) of the location. A longitudinal prismatic cover rests against the wall and ceiling of the location; a 'U' shaped support profile fitting against the wall and retaining complementary profiles in the covers, and lamps or fluorescent tubes mounted on the support. Two metal profiles (18,20) completely envelope the open faces. One of the covers has a window (24) cut into the metal, filled with laminated glass which serves to diffuse the light. The covers are fitted to the end caps by tamper-proof screw locks (82,90).

- two hollow and symmetrical flanges (16,16t), each provided with a substantially flat bottom (34) by which they are fixed to side walls (64, 74) of the room and a prismatic side skirt having two faces ( 36, 48) which are applied respectively against the ceiling (38) and against the support wall (10) of the cabin and at least two free faces (40, 44);

- a U-shaped plate (12) fixed on the ceiling or on said support wall, between the flanges, and stem-boxing in complementary profiles (52, 58) of the skirt of the flanges;

- lamps (27) or lighting tubes (25) fixed to the core (26) of the plate, and

- At least two metal profiles (18, 20) completely enveloping the free faces of the flanges as well as the tubes or lamps and their accessories, said profiles being of length at most equal to the width of the room and being fixed on the free faces (40 , 44) flanges by means of tamper-evident locking elements (82, 90), one of said profiles having a window (22) covered with a glazing (24) made of laminated glass for the diffusion of light.

2.- luminaire for public premises according to claim 1, characterized in that the skirt of each flange comprises an upper horizontal face intended to be applied against the ceiling of the premises, a face inclined towards the interior of the cabin, a horizontal face bottom provided with a semi-cylindrical notch, and a substantially vertical wall having on its outer face support projections.

3.- luminaire for public premises according to claim 2, characterized in that the central zone of the bottom of the flange is flat and pressed in relative to the remaining peripheral zone, and in that the latter is pierced with an elongated light ensuring l ventilation of the luminaire and side lighting.

4.- luminaire for public premises according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that lesdeux profiles have profiles respectively complementary to those of the lower face and the inclined face of the flanges, so that the ends of said profiles apply without play on the fiasques.

A luminaire according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the locking elements consist of screws or bolts mounted at adjustable positions along buttonholes drilled on said lower and inclined walls of each flange, and which is screw in nuts mounted sliding in slides bordering the buttonholes, on the inside of the flanges.

6. A luminaire according to claim 5 characterized in that the head of each screw or bolt has at least three holes or slots arranged in any manner, for ltemprised'un special tightening and loosening tool.

A luminaire according to claim 1, characterized in that the two profiles are articulated by means of a hinge of semi-cylindrical shape provided on a longitudinal edge of one of them and a cylindrical ball joint formed on the adjacent edge of the second profile and which is pivotally mounted inside the hinge, said ball joint having a longitudinal V-shaped notch of 900 opening, turned on the side of the concavity of the hinge, so as to allow the pivoting of the second profile and possibly its disassembly.

8.- A luminaire according to one of claims 1 and 7, characterized in that the glazing is slidably mounted in slides bordering the korizontal sides of the window of the pivoting profile, on the inside.

A luminaire according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the plate is constituted by a U-shaped profile, the wings of which are curved outwards, forming two flat seats for fixing the plate on the walls of the room, said wings fitting into the abovementioned support projections of the flanges.

10.- A luminaire according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it further comprises an emergency group operating on batteries to provide lighting in the event of a power failure.

11. Ceiling luminaire, characterized in that it consists of two luminaires according to one of the preceding claims, the flanges of which are joined by their vertical face, so that the upper horizontal faces are in the same plane and can be applied to the ceiling of the room, attachment to the ceiling being achieved by means of a plate according to claim 9.
