Abstract

A bulk container with walls of reinforced polyester resin or metal or plywood is constructed as a vertical cylinder with base panels which slope towards outlet chutes which allow gravity discharge, but have integral baffles. Pref. the containers are sized to be carried by lorry or rail. Rubber seals may be used for joints where the tanks are of bolted construction. The walls may have a protective coating internally and/or externally. The cylinder may be assembled from two half-shells bolted together by longitudinal flanges.

Description

 The present invention relates to containers of the "hopper silo" type allowing the storage and distribution of materials of all types. I1 can moreover, given its low mass and its reduced size, be placed on a motor vehicle and thus ensure the transport of the material.

 In known devices of this kind, the container is made in the form of a box. Such devices are of awkward construction and therefore of a significant cost price. Other devices are known which have automobile means, lifting or tilting means, but all these devices are neither practical nor versatile for the majority of the uses offered and involve storytelling techniques and achievements.

 The container according to the invention makes it possible to avoid these drawbacks, it prevents excessive expenditure and offers easy and rapid construction. It is in the form of a cylinder, the bottom of which brings the material to the outlet orifices, by gravity thanks to its inclination. These outlet openings being chutes of sufficient and adjustable flow rate.

 According to a first variant, the container has a single outlet with the bottom inclined in one direction.

 According to a second variant, the container has two outlets with the bottom inclined in two opposite directions.

 According to a third variant, the container has several outlets, the bottom has several inclinations bringing the material to each of the outlets.

 According to a fourth variant, the containers of the second and third variants have one or more partitions making it possible to diversify the materials inside the container.

 The accompanying drawings show the type of construction of the invention as well as all the constituent elements.

 As shown, the container comprises a cylinder (1) surrounding a bottom with two slopes (2) which distributes the material by gravity to the troughs (3) fixed on the cylinder and this at the lowest point of the bottom.

 By way of nonlimiting example, we will describe below a prototype which has been produced according to the invention.

The container consists of
A cylinder made by means of two half-cylinders in polyester laminate assembled together by bolting and sealed by a rubber seal. Each half-cylinder has a half-bottom and a removable drain chute. Each chute has a section of 300 mm X 300 of flow. They therefore allow emptying of large and adjustable flow 1 and this without effort. Made of polyester laminate, they are sealed by a rubber seal and bolted. Their means of obturation and adjustment is a plate of the same material sliding through a slot located on the top of the chutes.

 The device, object of the invention can be used in all cases where any material requires a storage volume, the pos sibility of being transported and finally its distribution. It can be used for industrial or domestic uses. Its use will be particularly appreciated in the agricultural field where it can contain, fertilizers, grains, animal feed.

Container made of polyester laminate or plywood or metal (1), pierced at its lower level with one or more drain openings (5), provided with an inclined bottom (2) allowing the flow of the contained up to the troughs (3), characterized by the fact of its cylindrical shape, protected by an external and internal coating.  2.
