Abstract

The fish-trap has a hollow body with a fish inlet (5) and an access opening at opposite extremities, the inlet having a funnel shape whilst the opening has a demountable cover (6). The funnel prevents the escape of a fish which has entered the body of the trap. The trap is made of a light plastics construction ballasted by weights (9) suspended by wires (8) attaching to rings (7). The interior may be furnished with spikes or similar devices for securing bait, the unit being suspended (2) from dissimilar floats (1) giving rise to a tilting of the inlet. An alternative design uses a body of a heavy construction and weights are dispensed with.
