 The present invention relates to a support device for the transport of oblong and / or solid elements, having in particular a shape substantially of revolution around an axis.

 The invention finds its application in the transport by motor vehicle or railway wagon platform of gas cylinders, cylindrical or cylindrical-conical containers, coils and similar articles.

 It has indeed been observed that the transport of oblong and / or massive articles or elements of revolution has a certain number of drawbacks due to the fact that they tend to roll on themselves while abandoning their place of anchoring. . In addition, the various wedges and devices used up to now need to be fixed to the floor of the vehicle or of the platform, which results in damage to the places of anchoring of said elements or articles.

 The invention aims to overcome the drawbacks specified above by providing a universal support device capable of receiving any element to be transported and easy to arrange and / or adapt to different types of platform and / or floors. .

 On its anterior face, the base is advantageously provided with a support structure 5a, 5b, 5c, 5d possibly shaped to adapt to different types of floors, and which can if necessary be provided with non-slip means. This embodiment is more particularly suitable for the transport of domestic gas cylinders in the trunks of motor vehicles.

 It is clear that the invention is in no way limited to the embodiment described above with reference to the appended drawing, but that it encompasses all the modifications and variants resulting from the same basic principle.
