Abstract

The device acts on a hinge to lock a window-shutter (2) in the open position, comprising a captive pin (6) which passes through aligned diametric (4b,3b) holes in the hinge-axle (4a) and the eye (3a) of a hinge-strap (3). The pin is fixed to the shutter by a chain (8) and has a circular cross-section with a longitudinal taper. The hole through the hinge has a similar tapered form, the effect being obtained by e.g. reducing the size of the hole in the axle relative to that in the eye. The pin may also have a round head (6b) to which the chain attaches.
