Abstract

The trolley carries a gas bottle and has a tubular support (2) with a hand grip (3) at the top. The bottom is fixed firmly to a shaft (5) carrying two wheels (6). It is also fixed to a fork (7) facing forward, perpendicular to the support. The fork goes around the bottle base, entering a base groove in it. At the bottle top a cradle piece (12) is fixed to the support, and partly holds it. The fork is of bent metal, C shaped with the ends (7b) of branches (7a) fixed on the wheel shaft.

Description

The present invention relates to a gas bottle holder trolley.

It relates more particularly to large model gas cylinders with a capacity of 35 m3 which, in known manner, are high and heavy and have no handle to allow their handling.

Currently, to be moved, these bottles are either carried by two men, or lifted by a man and arranged on trolleys in the form of a devil, that is to say composed of at least one upright whose upper end forms a handle and the lower end of which is secured to an axle carrying wheels.

Whatever mode of movement currently used, it requires significant physical effort and inconvenient handling.

The object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks by providing a trolley making it possible to pick up and carry bottles of this type directly.

To this end, the lower part of this carriage is integral with a forward-facing fork, arranged in a plane substantially perpendicular to that of the upright and capable of surrounding the base of the bottle by penetrating into the groove of which the latter is provided, while its upright is provided with a transverse arch facing forward.

To move a bottle with this trolley, the personnel in charge of this operation has only to engage the fork of the trolley in the groove provided at the base of the bottle, then to tilt the trolley by pivoting the upright backwards. . This maneuver takes the bottle off the ground and allows its upper part to come to rest on the hoop secured to the upright. At the end of this movement, the bottle is perfectly held, by its base and in the hoop, and can be moved by the carriage without any risk.

The invention will be clearly understood with the aid of the description which follows with reference to the appended schematic drawing showing by way of example an embodiment of this carriage.

FIG. 1 is a side view in elevation showing the gas cylinder whose displacement must be ensured,
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the whole of the carriage,
Figures 3 and 4 are side elevational views of the carriage and the bottle, respectively in the loading and lifting phases of the bottle.

In known manner, this carriage comprises a vertical upright 2, provided at its upper part with a handle 2 and the lower part of which is linked at 4 to an axis 5 at the ends of which the wheels 6 are mounted to rotate freely.

According to the invention, this carriage comprises, at its lower part, a fork which generally designated by 7, is able to cooperate with the groove which is fitted with any gas cylinder 1 as shown in FIG. 1.

In the embodiment shown, this fork is constituted by a metallic element which is curved.

In its central part 7a, this element has the general shape of a C, the extensions of the branches of which are folded at 7b next to said branches. The part at C 7a is fixed in particular by welding, at 8, to the lower end of the upright 2 at a level lower than that of the axis 2, while the ends of its extensions 7b are fixed on this axis, at 9. Figure 3 shows that, when the upright 2 is substantially vertical, the C 7a portion of the fork is substantially horizontal and is at a distance d from the ground substantially equal to the distance e separating the ground from the groove la from the bottle 1 that must be lifted.

To lift the bottle, it suffices to engage the C-shaped part in the groove 8, then to rotate the carriage in the direction of the arrow 10 in FIG. 3. The upper part of the bottle 1 thus comes to bear against a transverse cradle 12 fixed at 13 on the upright 2, near the handle 3. After this tilting movement, and as shown in FIG. 4, the bottle is perfectly held, on the one hand, by the fork entering the groove la and, on the other hand, by the cradle 12. It can thus be moved very easily by means of the wheels 6 of the carriage.

Advantageously, and to improve the resistance of the fork 7, the latter is reinforced by a V-shaped hoop 14, the point of which is fixed at 15 to the upright 2 and the two ends of which are fixed at 16 on the extensions 7b.

It follows from the above that this trolley, of very simple construction, makes it possible to handle, without excessive effort, any gas cylinder of 35 m3 comprising, at its base, a groove.
