Abstract

The plastics lid (1) affixes to the body (6) of a box which is rectangular in plan. The box may contain powdered food, and is made from a compound of cardboard and paper with a seal (13). The lid is mounted on an inverted 'U' section base which houses onto the top edge of the box to be glued in place, incorporating an opening panel (2) connected by a hinge (4). Glue may be applied to the outer flange (7) of the base, the strip may be connected by a rupture line (10), and the opening panel may house onto a lip (12) to be secured by a snap lock (14).
