Abstract

The reflector is curved to fit closely round the outer edge of the front of an electric incandescent lamp (3). The illumination efficiency of the unit is enhanced by the close fitment of the reflector to the curve of the lamp. The lamp bulb (3) is held in place by punchings (4) on the inner surface of the reflector which are sufficiently flexible to allow the maximum diameter of the lamp bulb to be forced between them and to then retain the lamp bulb. The reflector (1) flares out from the lamp bulb in a curve (3) which retains the now precisely located lamp filament (F) at its focus. The flexibility of the reflector is obtained by punchings around the periphery, at the shoulder section enveloping the large diameter section.
