Abstract

The turbo charger has an expansion turbine which is driven by the engine exhaust gases. The air discharged from the air compressor is supplied to a constant pressure reservoir. The reservoir is fitted with an inlet pressure regulating valve. The valve is spring loaded and allows flow of air into the reservoir. The reservoir is also fitted with a vent valve allowing air to escape from the tank, and venting condensate from the tank. The air is supplied to the engine through a water heated pipe. The pressure through the valve can be regulated by the hand valve.
