The invention also relates to a curler making it possible to produce curls of better hold than the curls executed with the usual curlers and respecting the natural position of implantation of the hair.

 The curler according to the present invention is in the form of a hollow cylindrical body made of rigid material, open at its two ends and pierced with radial holes. Said cylindrical body comprises, in at least one of its end sections, a peripheral series of oblique parallel notches with substantially parallel sides, opening in one direction and delimiting between them oblique parallel notches.

Thanks to these notches and oblique notches, it is possible, after having wound a lock of hair on the curler in the opposite direction to the direction in which the notches open, to straighten the curler perpendicular to the scalp with its notched slice facing the scalp, and block it in this position by a slight rotation in the opposite direction to the winding direction of the wick, so that the notches of this slice hang under the hair roots of the coiled wick.  The curler comprises a body 1 having the general shape of a hollow cylinder, made of a rigid material such as for example a plastic material. The body 1 is pierced with radial holes 2 which, in the example shown1 are substantially distributed over two circles. Other distributions of the holes 2 are however conceivable within the framework of the invention.

At its two open ends, the body 1 has, in each of its end sections, a peripheral series of notches 3 oblique to the axis of the body 1. These notches 3 are parallel and open in the same direction and define between they oblique notches 4 parallel.

 The making of the curler from two halves of different colors, the two end sections of the curler having notches and notches in the same direction, makes it possible to wind all the locks of hair from the head in the same direction on the curlers and to block the latter, depending on whether it is a question of making curls in one direction or the other, by the notches of a terminal slice or of the other of the curler under the roots of the strands of coiled hair. It goes without saying that the curler according to the invention can be produced from very diverse materials. When the material used cannot be colored in the mass, the curler can be produced in one piece and be subsequently colored so as to have two colors each covering one half of the curler. However, it is preferable to use materials capable of being dyed in the mass, for example plastics, in which case each curler may be formed by two halves of different colors capable of being joined together by welding or gluing.

 Of course, the curler according to the invention also lends itself to the production of perms, for which it has the same advantages as those described above.
