Abstract

Method for producing chignons (buns), or used as a visible support for the chignon (bun), a tube or sleeve 1 of flexible and fairly elastic material which is open at its two ends and of variable length but long enough for a handful of hair 2, engaged in the tube at one end, to leave free a considerable portion of the tube which can then be wound round against the head of hair, forming the chignon (bun). Application to the art of hairdressing.

Description

 The invention relates to the art of hairdressing and relates to a process for making updos which lends itself to various decorative effects.

 This process is characterized by the use, as an apparent and permanent support of the bun, of a tube of flexible and fairly elastic fabric, open at its two ends of length long enough for a handle of hair engaged in the tube to a end leaves a large part of the tube free which can then be wound tightly against the hair, forming a bun.

 The tube can be knitted to have sufficient elasticity. It can also be made of fabric with elastic threads.

 As it remains visible on the bun, it can be decorated.

 The description which follows with reference to the appended drawing, given by way of nonlimiting example, will make it clear how the invention can be implemented, the particular features which emerge both from the text and from the drawing forming, of course, part of said invention .

 Figure 1 shows a fabric tube.

 Figures 2, 3 and 4 show phases of production of the bun.

 The tube or sleeve 1 of fabric can have a length of 50 to 80 cm and a flat width of a few centimeters making it possible to introduce a handle of hair 2, for example the size of a "ponytail".

 For use, the operator begins by threading the tube around one hand, his right hand for example, and his wrist until the hand comes out of the tube at the opposite end, the tube being in accordion around the wrist (Figure 2). With the hand protruding from the tube, he then takes a handful of hair about the size of a "ponytail", then releases the right hand holding this hair handle from the tube, so that it is fully engaged in the tube.

 By pinching with the left hand the tube on the hair which is engaged there (figure 3), it leaves da tube the right hand which is released. By continuing to hold the tube and the captive hair with the left hand, he can then with the right hand roll up the tube on itself to form the bun (Figures 4 and 5).

The hair, which constitutes the support, does not appear since they are trapped in the tube. The appearance of the bun is therefore determined by that of the tube, the decoration of which will be neat.

 It will be noted that in the preceding description, the radial expandability of the fabric constituting the tube plays an important role since the width of the flat tube must be reduced to that of a wide ribbon for obvious aesthetic considerations and that, however, you must be able to insert a hand into it for the formation of the bun. This is why the fabric constituting the tube must have a fairly high transverse elasticity, which is easy to obtain by suitable weaving, for example with elastic threads.

 1. A method of producing buns, characterized by the use, as an apparent support of the bun, of a tube or sleeve (1) of flexible and fairly elastic fabric open at its two ends and of a variable length but large enough to that (2), engaged in the tube at one end, leaves free a large part of the tube which can then be wound against the hair by forming the bun.  2. As a means of implementing the method according to claim 1, a fabric tube characterized in that for a flat width of the order of magnitude of a wide ribbon, this tube has sufficient radial elasticity for thread it around with one hand, the tube also having a length greater than that of a lock of hair.
