Abstract

The comb has a line (4) of teeth (2, 3) extending along X axis. Teeth (3) carry longer hooks (5) that extend outside a plane defined by the teeth (2, 3), while teeth (2) are devoid of the hooks. A handle (6) elongates along a longitudinal axis that is perpendicular to the X axis. The teeth (2, 3) extend parallel to the longitudinal axis of the handle. The hooks extend laterally towards same lateral ends (9) of the comb. An independent claim is also included for a method for coloring or bleaching hair mesh.

Description

The present invention relates to combs that can be used to isolate one or more locks of hair, for example to apply a coloring or lightening product.

The French patent 1,600,472 and patents US 4,993,438 , 4,996,996 and 5,152,306 describe such combs.

The US Patent 2,175,344 discloses a hair comb according to the preamble of claim 1.

There is a need to further facilitate the realization of colored or thinning strands, by a single person in particular.

There is also a need to be able to color or lighten hair in a manner reproducible throughout the hair.

The invention aims to meet these needs.

The invention thus has, according to a first aspect, a comb for the hair according to claim 1. The succession of teeth may include in particular at least two teeth each carrying a hook. at least three teeth each carrying a hook.

Such a comb makes it easy to isolate and grasp one or more locks of hair in order to treat them.

In addition, the invention makes it possible to have a relatively inexpensive comb to produce and therefore capable of being marketed in the form of a kit with a hair treatment product.

In an exemplary implementation of the invention, the hooks extend from the same side of the succession of teeth and to one and the same end of the comb.

Teeth may have aligned bases.

The base of at least one tooth carrying a hook may be separated from the base of a consecutive tooth devoid of a hook by a distance greater than twice, or even three times the mean spacing between the tops of two teeth devoid of hooks .

The comb may comprise an elongate handle along a longitudinal axis and the succession of teeth may extend transversely to this longitudinal axis, in particular perpendicular to it.

The succession of teeth may comprise teeth whose bases extend non-coplanar with the handle, in particular by making a non-zero acute angle with the longitudinal axis thereof. This can improve the ergonomics of the comb. The aforementioned angle can be between 5 and 45 °, for example.

In the case where such an acute angle exists, at least one hook may extend towards the acute angle, and preferably all the hooks extend from this same side.

In an exemplary embodiment, the comb comprises a first series of hooks which extends on one side of the aforementioned plane and a second series which extends on the opposite side. This second series may have, at the limit, only one hook.

The hooks of the first series may for example all be directed towards one and the same end of the comb while the hooks of the other series are directed towards the opposite lateral end.

The spacing between two adjacent hooks within the first set may be different from the spacing between two adjacent hooks within the second set.

The presence of the first and second series of hooks may allow the user, depending on the side he chooses to apply against the hair, to extract for example a different number of locks or locks containing different amounts of hair .

The invention also relates to a comb for the hair, comprising a succession of teeth, at least one of which carries a hook which extends at least partially out of a plane defined by at least two teeth of the succession, and out of a plane perpendicular to this plane.

The invention also relates to a comb for the hair, comprising a succession of teeth, at least two of which carry a hook which extends at least partially out of a plane defined by at least two teeth of the succession, the two teeth being separated by at least one tooth devoid of hook.

Another subject of the invention, according to another of its aspects, is a method for coloring or lightening at least one lock of hair, comprising the following steps:

In an exemplary implementation of the invention, several locks are simultaneously isolated using the comb.

The comb 1 represented at figure 1 comprises a succession 4 of regular teeth 2 and teeth 3 carrying a hook 5, this succession 4 extending generally along an axis X, rectilinear in the example considered. At least one tooth does not form a hook, the comb comprising for example at least two teeth devoid of hook.

The comb 1 still has, as can be seen on the figure 1 a handle 6 elongated along a longitudinal axis Y, perpendicular to the axis X in the example in question.

The teeth 2 and 3 have bases 7 which are aligned along the axis X in the illustrated example and which are connected to a frame 8 secured to its central portion 19 of the handle 6.

The assembly of the comb 1 is made for example in one piece by plastic molding, but it is not beyond the scope of the present invention when other materials, for example metals, are used.

We can see on the figure 3 that the regular teeth 2 extend along a plane P which can make a non-zero acute angle α with the longitudinal axis Y of the handle 6, this angle α being for example between 5 and 45 °.

The frame 8 can extend in the plane of the handle 6 as in the example illustrated, or alternatively in the plane P forming an angle with the handle in its central region 9.

Where appropriate, as illustrated on the figure 4 , the teeth 2 and 3 may extend parallel to the longitudinal axis Y of the handle 6.

The lateral ends 9 of the frame 8 preferably have the same orientation as the teeth 2.

In the example considered, the teeth 3 extend, like the teeth 2, along the plane P and each hook 5 extends entirely on the same side of the plane P, for example on the side of the angle α as we can see on the figure 2 , being directed both towards the base of the frame 8 and towards one and the same lateral end 9 thereof.

In the example, each hook 5 has a generally curvilinear shape, being further tapered towards its free end 10. Each hook 5 may be slightly concave towards the tooth 3 which carries it.

When the comb 1 is observed from the front as on the figures 1 and 7 the free end 10 of a hook 5 can extend at a relatively small apparent distance h from the frame 8, this distance h corresponding for example to less than a quarter of the length 1 of the tooth 3 carrying it.

The hook 5 extending out of the plane P, its free end 10 is located, when observed parallel to the plane P as on the figure 2 , at a non-zero apparent distance g of the tooth 3 which carries it.

A relatively large length of the hook 5 allows to give it flexibility, so to improve comfort in case of contact with the scalp, and also allows to properly retain a lock of hair.

The apparent spacing d between the free end 10 of a hook 5 and the nearest regular tooth 2, when the comb is viewed from the front as on the figures 1 and 7 , can correspond for example substantially to the mean spacing e between two regular teeth 2, measured at their apex.

Of course, the invention is not limited to particular values for h and d .

The regular teeth 2 may be grouped for example in packets of at least three teeth, as can be seen in FIG. figure 1 these packages being separated by the teeth 3 which carry the hooks 5.

In the example considered, within a group of teeth 2, all the bases 7 of the teeth 2 are arranged at regular intervals along the axis X, but it could be different without going beyond the scope of the present invention.

The spacing f between the base 7 of a tooth 3 and the group of teeth 2 adjacent to the free end 10 of the hook 5 may correspond, for example, to about three or four times the mean spacing e between the free ends of two teeth 2 within a group of teeth 2, as can be seen on the figure 7 .

In the example considered, the comb 1 has three teeth 3 each provided with a hook 5, but the comb could have a different number.

To use the comb 1, one can first comb the hair with the teeth 2 and 3 oriented substantially perpendicularly to the scalp.

To extract wicks, teeth 2 and 3 can be placed substantially flat against the hair, as shown in FIG. figure 5 , and move the comb by pulling on the handle 6 in such a way that the locks M engage in the hooks 5, so that then lifting the comb, as illustrated in FIG. figure 6 the locks M can be isolated from the hooks 5.

The locks M thus extracted can be treated, for example by application of a coloring or lightening product. The locks may still undergo physical treatment, for example by exposure to laser radiation to destroy melanin and discolor.

In the example of Figures 8 and 9 , the comb 1 comprises two sets of hooks 5 'and 5 "respectively disposed on either side of the plane P. The hooks 5' and 5" may be identical or different as is the case in the illustrated example. The For example, the hooks 5 "may be shorter than the hooks 5. The spacing between two adjacent hooks 5 'may be different from the spacing between two adjacent hooks 5", which may allow the user, for example, the side of the comb that he chooses to apply against the hair, to seize a greater or lesser number of locks of hair or a greater or lesser amount of hair per lock, according to the distance between the hooks, of the size and shape of these.

In the example of the figure 8 , all the hooks 5 'are directed towards a lateral end 9 of the frame 8, while the other hooks 5 "are directed towards the other lateral end 9 of the frame 8, the hooks 5' and 5" deviating from the plane P , as can be seen on the figure 9 .

In a variant not shown, the hooks 5 "extend in spacing from the plane P to the same lateral end 9 of the frame 8 as the hooks 5 '.

In another variant not illustrated, the comb may comprise hooks which extend in the plane P in addition to hooks which extend out of the plane P.

Of course, the invention is not limited to the examples which have just been described.

In particular, the comb may be given a different shape, and in particular the succession of teeth may extend along an axis X which is no longer rectilinear but curved, according to a curvature for example adapted to that of the skull.

The teeth 2 or 3 may also not all have the same length or the same shape.

The handle 6 may be non-rectilinear or extend generally perpendicularly to the bases of the teeth 2 and 3.

Throughout the description, including the claims, the phrase "having one" should be understood as being synonymous with "having at least one", unless the opposite is specified.

Claims (17)

1. A hair comb comprising a succession of teeth, the succession having

   . at least one tooth (3) that bears a hook (5), the hook extending at least in part beyond a plane (P) that is defined by at least two teeth (2, 3) in the succession, and

   . at least two teeth without hooks, characterized by the fact that the hook (5) extends beyond a plane perpendicular to the plane (P) defined by the two teeth and by the fact that the free end (10) of the hook appears to be situated at a non zero distance from the tooth which bears it, when observed parallel to said plane (P).
2. A comb according to claim 1, wherein the succession of teeth comprises at least two teeth (3) each of which bears a hook (5), better at least three teeth (3) each of which bears a hook (5).
3. A comb according to claim 2, wherein the hooks (5) lie on a side of the succession of teeth.
4. A comb according to claim 2, wherein all the hooks extend laterally towards one lateral end (9) of the comb.
5. A comb according to any preceding claim, wherein the teeth (2, 3) have bases (7) that are in alignment.
6. A comb according to any preceding claim, wherein the base (7) of at least one tooth (3) that bears a hook (5) is separated from the base of a consecutive tooth (2) without a hook by a distance (f) that is twice, better three times the average spacing (e) between the tips of two teeth (2) without hooks.
7. A comb according to claim 6, comprising a handle (6) projecting along a longitudinal axis (Y), the succession of the teeth extending across the longitudinal axis (Y) in particular along an axis (X) that is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (Y).
8. A comb according to any preceding claim, wherein the succession of teeth comprises bases (7) that extend along a plane that makes a non zero acute angle (α) with the longitudinal axis (Y) of the handle (6).
9. A comb according to claim 8, wherein the angle (α) lies in the range 5° to 45°.
10. A comb according to claim 8 or claim 9, wherein at least one hook (5) lies on the same side as the non zero acute angle (α).
11. A comb according to claim 1, comprising a first succession of hooks (5') that lie on one side of said plane and a second succession of hooks (5") that lie on the opposite side.
12. A comb according to claim 11, wherein the hooks (5') of the first succession are all directed towards a same lateral end of the comb whereas the hooks (5") in the other succession are directed towards the opposite lateral end.
13. A comb according to claim 12, wherein the spacing between two adjacent hooks (5') within the first succession is different from the spacing between two adjacent hooks (5") within the second succession.
14. A method of dyeing or adding highlights to at least one lock (M) of hair, which method comprises:

    - isolating at least one lock of hair by using a comb (1) as defined in claim 1,

    - treating the lock thereby isolated.
15. A method according to claim 14, wherein the lock that has been isolated is treated through adding highlights or dyeing.
16. A method according to claim 14, wherein the comb (1) is used to isolate a plurality of locks (M) simultaneously.
17. A method according to any one of claims 14 to 16, wherein in a first step, the hair is combed, then in a second step, the comb is laid against the hair, the hook(s) (5) being situated beside the scalp, and the comb is moved in such a manner that one or more locks become engaged in the hook(s) (5).
