Abstract

 The present invention aims to remedy the aforementioned drawback and it proposes, for this purpose, to describe a flexible periodic towel, capable of deforming following the movements of the user but also capable of returning to its original form as soon as movement has stopped, even if it has been moistened with body fluids.

Between the flexible elastically deformable sheet and the absorbent sheet is advantageously inserted a layer of high-retention material chosen from the group formed by carboxymethylcelluloses, grafted polyacrylonitrile-starch copolymers, carboxymethyl-starches, celluloses modified by grafting or crosslinking and acrylic copolymers.

 In an advantageous embodiment, the lining according to the invention is of elongated flat shape, of greater thickness in its central part than in its parts. extremes; it has two ends with convex rounded edges and two concave curved longitudinal edges; its thickness varies between 2 and 20 mm and it is preferably between 3 and 6 mm.

 The configuration given to the absorbent pad according to the invention allows the latter to better conform to the anatomy of the user and to provide them with greater comfort of use, in comparison with periodic towels of rectangular shape with straight edges of létat. of technique.

In the central part of the towel 1, the longitudinal edges of the permeable veil 3 are folded over and partially cover the corresponding edges of the permeable veil 2.

 Inside the external envelope, and on the side of the permeable web 2, an absorbent sheet 4 is made up made of wood pulp of known composition.

 Under the absorbent sheet 4 is disposed a plate 5 of a product with high retention, for example, of carboxymethylcellulose.

 Between the wafer 5 and the waterproof web 3 is inserted a sheet 6 of flexible, elastically deformable material.

The outline of the sheet 6 has the shape of a rectangle whose edges have been chamfered (see Figure 1); its width is substantially equal to that of the towel 1 measured in its central part; its width is approximately 4.5 cm and its length is approximately 6 cm, while the length of the towel measured along its longitudinal axis of symmetry is approximately 23 cm. In this exemplary embodiment, the flexible, elastically deformable sheet 6 is made of a polymer foam, such as a polyurethane foam.

Thanks to the flexible sheet 6 which is elastically deformable, the periodic towel 1 can deform in use by following the movements of the user. It can thus be repeatedly subjected to transverse folds but, as soon as the transverse folding efforts cease and even if it has been wetted by body fluids, it can resume its substantially flat configuration of origin without "getting ragged" and thus avoiding the risks of leaks which may occur on this occasion,
