Abstract

The ventilation tiles are used for every fifteen square metres of roof and are of the same material, glaze ware or cement, as the main roof tiles. Air penetrates through a perforated leading edge (1) and flows into the hollow tile interior and then has access to the roof timbers, keeping them free from condensation. The top edge of the tile has a projection (5) to overlap adjacent tiles. Fixing to adjacent tiles is by an inward fold (4) along both lateral bases of the tile, and the tile shape ensures matching of a variety of width and thickness of original tile.

Description

The present invention relates to a tile ensuring ventilation of roofs covered with flat tiles, called scales, and also all flat tiles called square ends.

The need for ventilation under tiles is imposed by the porosity of the terracotta tiles which require constant drying. It maintains a two-sided approaching temperature to remove condensate, but also, this ventilation oxygenates the lumber and thus contributes to its good conservation. It is essential to install a ventilation tile for fifteen square meters of coverage.

In known devices of this kind, which popular parlance has called i'ch8tièrei ', a more or less significant roughness destroys the planimetry of the cover. The laying remains difficult because it is necessary to remove part of the two lower tiles. The holes in the terracotta are too large and allow wasps and snow to pass through in strong winds. A model is only suitable for one type of tortoiseshell or broken end tiles.

The ventilation tile or "cat flap" according to the invention avoids these drawbacks.

Built in copper sheet, which, by its patina, allows the ventilation tile to integrate perfectly with all terracotta from red to dark brown. Due to its design, with a longitudinal air gap, it perfectly respects the planimetry of the cover.

As shown, the outside air intake (1) is protected by a stamped and perforated copper grid with the maximum number of holes and a diameter ranging from three to five millimeters, in order to prohibit the wasp access, and also significantly eliminate the passage of snow in high winds. Two notches (2) allow to marry the neighboring tiles. Having penetrated, the air is directed parallel under the upper face of the tile and is distributed under the cover. It also diffuses vertically from top to bottom. The rigidity is obtained by the front folding (1), at the rear by a transverse stamping (3). Longitudinally, the rigidity is obtained by two folds (4) with overlap (5).

According to the invention, the longitudinal folds (4) with covering (5) allow the use of the ventilation tile in the case of roofs executed with tiles of different widths. The overlaps (5) can indeed slide on the neighboring tiles or come edge to edge for the larger tiles.

The cutouts (6) allow at the time of installation to fold the copper strip down against the batten of the frame, to the size of the other tiles of the roof.

According to a first variant, the front folding ventilation tile (1) is produced not in rounded form, but rectilinear and parallel to the rear stamping (3) this in order to register for the roofing tiles called square ends.
