NEW DEVICE TO FACILITATE THE EMPTYING OF THE CONTENTS OF THE WINTER BASKETS, ESPECIALLY WITH A VERTICAL AXIS, CONSTITUTED BY A SET OF CABLES FIXED BY ONE END TO THE BASKET OF THE WASHER AND ARRANGED IN A WAY TO ALLOW, BY TRACTION ON THE FREE ENDS, TO CUT THE SPIN CAKE IN EASILY DISCHARGEABLE SECTORS.

  The problem of unloading the contents of the wringer baskets has been the subject of numerous studies which have led to modifications.

  The invention relates to a new and improved device which can be used on wringers with a vertical axis when the wrung product tends to agglomerate to form a consistent cake. It helps break

  very quickly the wringing cake into pieces of appropriate size

  required, which greatly reduces the workforce, when

  it is a classic wringer; it also allows for esso-

  reuse with removable pocket, raise the pocket and empty the container

  held very quickly without manual intervention on the wrung product,

  thus avoiding any risk of soiling.

  The action of the device makes it possible to cut the spin cake into a

  series of sections or sectors, using cables, one of which

  one is attached to the basket and the other is connected to a traction device.

  It consists essentially of a set of cables made of a suitable material (which can for example be stainless steel) attached by one end: - either to the upper part of the machine basket (point "a" in diagrams no 1 and 2, plate A below), which after having passed through a ring secured to the axis of the basket are joined in a ring or a loop (point "d" in the diagrams), - either at the central part or at the bottom of the basket (point "a" in diagrams 1 and 2, plate B below), the movable ends located at the top of the latter and being connected to a crown or to a loop (point " d "on the diagrams), the ring - the crown or the loop gathering the movable ends being arranged so that it can be connected once the spin

  finished, to a lifting means such as a hoist.

  When the wringer is set in rotation, the centrifugal force plates the cables whose length corresponds to the distance a - b - c - d of the diagrams in a vertical plane along a generator of the basket, and the product to be wrung out cover gradually, so that the spin once finished, each of the cables is at the periphery of the cake. By carrying out sufficient traction on the ring or crown which brings together the mobile ends of all the cables, the spin cake is cut into as many sectors as there are cables, and this operation is carried out very quickly,

practically labor-free.

  If it is a conventional basket wringer, we then proceed to the manual removal of each of the slices thus formed, which requires much less time than scraping with a shovel of

  same cake when done entirely by hand.

  On a wringer with an extractable pocket, it suffices - cutting into

  slices made - to raise the pocket, which is done very quickly

  because the cake is no longer pressed against the filter cloth as at the end of spinning, and to drop the slices in a container

appropriate.

  The number and the section of the cables used is of course variable with the size of the basket, and the consistency of the product after spinning. A distance of 10 to 20 cm between two neighboring cables is generally satisfactory, but this precision is given for information only. The cable section must take into account

  the tensile force they will have to bear, itself linked to the con-

  resistance of the product, but also to the fact that the more the cable is

  the thinner, the more cutting it is, which reduces this effort accordingly.

  The set of cables constituting the device according to the invention may also be provided with washers or plates intended to take off the sectors of the wiping cake from the canvas, and to bring them back towards the center of the basket or of the pocket, thus facilitating the unloading (see diagram No. 3 plate A below). The dimensions of these washers or plates must be determined experimentally according to

  the rigidity of the filter cake. To prevent them from reducing-

  the filtering surface, they can be made of materials

embossed or perforated.

  The nature of the cable material is essentially determined by corrosion problems, linked to the nature of the product wrung and the flexibility necessary for the shearing force which it exerts on the wiper cake to be progressive. Steels, possibly stainless, of various grades can be used, as well as

  polymers or possibly steel cables sheathed in poly-

  mother, such as nylon or teflon. Stainless steel cable, 1.5 mm in diameter, having a sufficient number of strands to give it good flexibility, generally gives satisfaction in the most

large number of cases.

  The practical embodiment of the device according to the invention can take various variants, taking into account the characteristics specific to each machine manufacturer, but a particularly convenient solution consists in regularly fixing points on the upper part of the basket or of the wringing tank. anchor regularly spaced 8 to 10 cm apart, and likely to receive using a series of

  The cable assembly point, consisting of a ring fixed in the center of the basket at its lower part, is made so that the cables can be slid inside its center without difficulty. Several devices can be used, diagrams 3 and 4 on Plate A give examples of implementation, without the clarifications given being considered as having

a limiting nature.

  Besides the realization, according to all the easily imaginable variants, of the device described above, the invention relates to its use both on new machines and on old machines, which can be easily equipped thanks to very inexpensive modifications, and can be performed on almost all models

with existing vertical axis.

  The transformation of these can be carried out either by fixing the ends of the cable to the upper part of the basket, as described above, for example by drilling a series of holes intended to receive fixing hooks, and by adapting in the center of the basket a ring constructed according to the indications above, either by fixing the cables to the lower part or to the center of the basket, and by making them cross the upper part by a small hole drilled in it, as indicated on diagram No. 3, board B, or optionally by holding them with a guide welded to the internal face of the upper part of the basket as shown in diagram No. 4 Board B. The cables are then joined by a steel circle, held by lugs fixing on the upper part

  of the basket during its rotation.

Claims (7)

  1) Device intended to facilitate the unloading of central extractors   vertical axis shelters, when the wrung products have a compact structure, and having the following characteristics, taken together or separately:   2) The device consists of a set of cables made of material   suitable rials, such as stainless steel or a polymer, or a combination of the two.   3) One end of each cable in the assembly is secured   of the wringer basket thanks to an anchor point.   4) The anchor point is located either at the top of the basket,   either on the bottom, more or less near its center.   ) The other end is likely to be stretched, each cable passing either through a ring located in the center of the basket if the cables are fixed to its upper part, or through a hole or a guide established on the upper part of the basket if the cables are anchored   in the center or at the base of it.   6) The length of each cable is calculated so that it exactly matches the shape of the basket according to a generator thereof under the action of centrifugal force when the latter is rotated. 7) The non-anchored ends of each of the cables are connected to a ring or a circle allowing traction to be exerted on each of them.   8) The tension thus applied to all the cables causes the cable to move from the periphery of the basket inwards, thus cutting the spin cake into as many sections as it there are cables.   9) The cables can be provided with a variable number of plates   or washers, intended to detach the pieces of the cake of esso- rage of the filter material.   ) Use of the device according to the above claims, in   particular by transformation or adaptation to existing machines.
