Abstract

The device for exercising the legs, particularly following surgical operations, consists of a platform on which the patient stands, and which is tilted so that the patient needs to move his legs and body to keep his balance. The platform has a spherical body attached to the centre of its underside to provide the pivot point. Attachments can be added to control the tilting action of the platform. Equally spaced around the centre, are four tapped holes to enable one or more fittings to be added. Smaller fittings give more tilt then larger fittings. The can also be added in different arrangements to control the direction of tilt.

Description

 The object of the invention relates to a propioceptive rehabilitation device.

 It is more particularly intended for the reeducation or kinesthesitherapy of the lower limbs for the treatment after fractures, surgical operations and others.

 It is known to use for the rehabilitation of the lower limbs, such as the ankles, the knees, multiple mechanical therapy devices or the like, but the progress made has proved to be extremely slow.

 The device according to the invention eliminates these drawbacks, and makes it possible to re-educate the joints of the lower limbs in relatively short times, and gives the possibility of ensuring not only the mobility of the joints as well as their stability, but also to treat the nervous receptors together with skin, ligament, and bone muscle tissue.

 I1 consists of the combination of a rigid carrier plate, ellipsoidal in shape with semi-spherical in-terchangeabless wedges, positioning the basoules and limiting their amplitudes.

 However, the shapes, dimensions and arrangements of the various elements may vary within the limit of the equivalents, like the materials used for their manufacture, without changing the general conception of the invention which has just been described.
