Abstract

The heat exchanger has a serpentine primary circuit conveying the fluid providing the heat and a secondary circuit conveying the water to be re-heated in the opposite sense. The secondary circuit is formed as a serpentine surrounding the serpentine defined by the primary circuit, the two serpentines being joined together by a large number of pins packed close together. The serpentines are enclosed by a heat-insulated casing, with a fluid between the inside walls of the latter and the fins. Pref. both serpentines are formed by parallel tubes projecting at their ends through the opposing end plates of the casing, for connection to the respective feed and take-off pipes.

Description

The subject of the present invention is a heat exchanger more commonly called a “domestic hot water preparer”.

Domestic hot water heaters generally consist of a tank provided with an inlet for a fluid to be heated and an outlet for the heated fluid, inside the tank extending a coil in which circulates a heating fluid.

Such heat exchangers are very well known and have the drawback that in the event of deterioration of the coil in which the heating fluid circulates, it risks coming into contact with the fluid to be heated. However when it comes to drinking water and if by chance in the drinking water supply pipe there is a depression, drinking water risks being polluted.

One of the aims of the present invention is to provide an exchanger in which the risks of mixing the primary fluids and the secondary fluids are eliminated.

The exchanger object of the present invention is of the type comprising a primary circuit formed by a coil in which circulates a heating fluid and a secondary circuit in which circulates against the current a fluid to be heated and is characterized in that the secondary circuit consists of a coil surrounding the coil of the primary circuit, - said coils being connected by fins very close to each other and said coils being housed in a fire-resistant casing.

Thus, thanks to the invention, the primary and secondary fluids are completely isolated and the secondary fluid is heated by means of the fins which connect the coils to each other.

According to a particular constructive characteristic, the exchanger comprises two parallel plates traversed by the ends of tubes constituting the coil of the secondary circuit, said ends being connected together by manifolds, a series of tubes extending between the tubes of the secondary circuit and between the plates and connected together by elbows, the fins connecting the different tubes to each other and a casing fixed on the plates with the interposition of a heat-insulating material.

Finally, the manifolds are provided with secondary circuit tubes closed by removable plugs.

It is thus easy to clean the secondary circuit by removing the removable plugs.

The invention will now be described in more detail with reference to an embodiment of the invention given by way of example only and shown in the accompanying drawings.

The arrival of the fluid to be heated takes place through a tube 20 connected to the tube 3, while the outlet comprises a tube 21 connected to the tube 9.

The primary circuit comprises two tubes 24 and 25 arranged between the tubes 9 and IO, two tubes 26 and 27 placed between the tubes 7 and 8, two tubes 28 and 29 housed between the tubes 5 and 6 and finally two tubes inserted between the tubes 3 and 4.

The tubes 24 and 25 are connected by an elbow 32, while the free end of the tube 25 is connected by an elbow 33 to the corresponding end of the tube 27, the other end of which is connected by an elbow 34 to the tube 26 of which the free end is connected by a bend 35 to the corresponding end of the tube 28.
