Wind turbines, more commonly called wind turbines, all have as a receiving member, which transforms into work the living force of the wind, a propeller or a turbine 8 helical blades and are generally mounted on a high pylon. The axis of said propellers or helical turbines is always horizontal, its driving members always facing the wind
It can therefore be seen that the thrust still supported by said motor member is situated in a horizontal plane and causes a bending torque of the pylon which supports it. In addition, this pylon must be all the higher as the motor member is of a larger diameter. We therefore observe that for these various reasons the power that can be thus captured is very limited if one wishes to maintain sufficient security. , the use of such devices to capture great powers would require colossal and expensive infrastructures
The object of the present invention is therefore to avoid these drawbacks by making it possible to produce very high-powered windmills having a propeller of large diameter but which does not withstand dangerous efforts for the resistance of the building, even when they are subject to the strongest winds
For this, the helical turbine or propeller, which is moved by the wind, is mounted on a vertical axis, the wind which drives it being driven to it by means of an adjustable deflector. thrust undergone by said motor member is then vertical and cannot therefore contribute to the destruction of the building which supports it
Likewise, it can be seen that the height of said building is independent of the diameter of the drive member which, therefore, may have the largest dimensions. On the contrary, the diameter of the frame will be all the greater the larger the diameter of the motor member, without its height being increased; its seat will therefore be all the more stable as the power received will itself be greater. Such a device is furthermore provided with ancillary members which, by creating a depression downstream of the drive member, increase the efficiency of the 'machine

Figure 4 is a diametrical vertical sectional view of the deflector according to another embodiment
As shown, the object of the invention comprises the helical turbine or the propeller 1, which will be called the drive member, and whose vertical axis 2 is located in the center of the cylindrical building 3 which is open at its top and whose diameter allows the free rotation of the drive member 1 so that all the air passing through said building affects said drive member
The cylindrical wall of the building 3 which is located below the plane of the drive member is constituted by a peripheral louver 4 whose fixed blades are radial. And said building 3 is crowned by the deflector 5 in the form of bent tubing a 900, whose downstream mouth 6 is of a diameter slightly smaller than the inside diameter of the building 3 so as to be able to circulate there freely, and the upstream outlet 7 is located in a vertical plane above the building 3 .This deflector is able to pivot around the center of its downstream mouth, itself centered on the axis of the building 3 which contains the motor organ
Furthermore, the axis of said drive member is coupled at its base in the chamber 13 to an alternator or to any other receiving machine and is carried by a horizontal stop which absorbs all the thrust supported by the drive member without affecting the solidity. of the building
The device is completed by a vertical, semi-cylindrical screen 9, integral with the deflector 5, its median generatrix coinciding with the vertical median of the upstream opening 7 of the deflector 5. The device being thus constituted, it is understood that it can be used for the production of very large powers, the increase in the diameter of the driving member 1 not necessarily implying the increase in height of the building 3, and the thrust undergone by the driving member being always vertical
The blades of said drive member 1 are preferably supported by the shrouds 10 linked to the upper end of the axis 2 which has at this level an aerodynamic ogival shape
The deflector 5 is mounted on the rollers 11 located at its outer periphery and moving on the circular path 12 which crowns the building 3. It drives in its rotation the semi-cylindrical skirt 9 which is integral with it, said skirt thus always closing half of the outer periphery of the louver 4, regardless of the position of the deflector 5
According to Figure 3 the vertical ends of said skirt 9 which are located in a diametral plane of the building 3, have a slightly flared shape externally so as to orient the air streams which surround said skirt of tulle so that it creates a characteristic depression area downstream of it
The displacement of the deflector 5 is obtained by means of a motor which drives at least one of the rollers 11 and which is controlled by a wind vane which is independent of the building, close to it, in an open place, at a height which is not necessarily that of the building itself
The device being thus equipped, the signal emitted by the wind vane allows, by an action on the drive motor of the deflector 5, to constantly maintain the hearing 7 of said deflector facing the wind. Therefore it penetrates into said deflector and is bent vertically towards the motor member 1 which drives it by crossing it to exit the building 3 by the peripheral louver 4 at the level not blocked by the deflector 9 which is always downstream from the wind direction and always subjected to a vacuum created by the wind itself at the level of the skirt 9. The pressure drops of the assembly are therefore reduced thanks to the presence of this artificially created depression, which ensures the machine an excellent performance
For the same purpose, the hearing 7 of the deflector 5, the shape of which is arbitrary, rectangular for example, may have a larger surface area than the downstream mouth 6, the assembly thus forming a generally conical duct which has the effect of '' increase the air speed at the motor unit 1
Such a device is therefore capable of producing useful work for light winds, the surface of the opening 7, which picks up the wind, which can be very large, as well as the diameter of the driving member 1, without causing the less danger of imbalance in building 3, even in hurricane weather, since the larger the diameter of the drive member, the larger the seat of the building too, without its height necessarily being higher. The speed of rotation of the driving member 1 can be controlled by a centrifugal device contained in the warhead 14 and acting on the blades with variable pitch of the driving member
These can thus be feathered, if necessary, to cause the system to stop, regardless of the speed of the wind passing through the craft.
Furthermore, according to FIG. 4, the hearing 7 of the deflector 5 can be provided with a louver 15 whose movable slats can be
oriented so as to modulate the surface of this opening as a function
reverse of the speed of the wind hitting it
The automatic control of the variation of this surface by means of the movable slats of the louver 15 can be maintained by means of an anemometer located around the building, driving the motor which controls the position of said slats
It can even be provided, in order to maintain the operation of the machine even in very strong winds, to automatically cause, from a certain wind speed controlled by the anemometer, the rotation of the deflector 5 of 1800 relative to the direction of the wind provided by the wind vane. In this way, when the wind exceeds the allowed speed, the hearing 7 is no longer subjected to the pressure of the wind, but on the contrary it is placed in depression, being downstream relative to the wind direction. And the rear neck of the deflector, which is in this case facing the wind, ensures better air flow at this level and
avoids excessive pressure on this organ
At this instant we see that it is the lower louver 4 which is found facing the wind, the skirt 9 having followed the deflector 5 in its rotation. We then observe that the driving member is subjected to a current of air opposite to the previous case, entering through the lower louver 4 and escaping through the upper hearing 7. This may not have any drawback when it is a rev receptor
sible but it can be provided, to maintain a direction of rotation always identical, to automatically reverse the pitch of propeller 1 from the moment
that the deflector 5 is positioned at 18o with respect to the wind direction
that he receives
Such a device therefore allows the use of the force of the wind, even for very high power installations, the diameter of the motor member being able to have any diameter, the wind resistance
of the building that supports it being always insured. Such a device can
therefore be placed on a height, where it will stably support the strongest winds and will therefore be able to produce work in a prayed manner.
