Abstract

The junction allows power take-off from three phase cables etc. without breaking the conductors. The junction element forms an annulus around the cable and cuts through the individual conductor insulation to make connection to the incoming cables. The junction shell is in two snap fitting halves (1,2) with openings at ninety degrees around its perimeter for four junction cable inputs (7,8,9) and connection points. Connection to each of the supply conductors (22) is by a screw (10) within a trapped threaded section (15) which is held in position by a sprung washer (14). The screw has a slotted end face (34) and a raised perimeter in order to cut the cable insulation. The conductors are held apart by a flexible star shaped spacer (26) such that differing weight conductors can be accommodated.
