Abstract

The crash helmet (2) covers the neck and ears of the user and has an associated visor (4) and a chin protector (5). In the front outer face of the helmet there is an opening (3) in which, or over which, the visor is fitted. The visor is a transparent screen and both it and the chin protector are made in semi-supple material. The visor and chin protector are fixed to the helmet by press studs (10). When not in use the visor can be held in a slot in the top of the chin protector, and in a recess in the rear of the helmet.
