Abstract

The adaptor for converting a current connector into a safety connector comprises two identical discs (1a,b) rotatably secured together by a rivet (2) with one disc inverted relative to the other. Each disc has an arcuate groove (3) containing a spigot (5) at one end, a return coil spring (6) located in the cylinder formed by the mating grooves biasing the discs into a relative angular position in which two diametrically opposed pin holes (9) in one disc do not coincide with the hole in the other. When one disc is glued to a two pin female connector (11) with the holes in register with the pin holes access is blocked by the upper disc until the latter is rotated to align its pin holes. An arcuate slot (7) in each disc co-operates with a projecting earth pin.
