Abstract
The draught excluder uses an elastic sealing strip (4) on a vertically displaceable rail (8), with a cammed contact (12) for rail (8) lowering when the door is closed. An inverted 'L' section (1) mounts and masks the assembly on the foot of a door, locating the rail (8) which may have an internally winged 'H' section. A rectangular section horizontal bar slide (10) fits in the top rail (8) channel, suspended by inclined blade springs (7) located by rollers (6) on fixed axles (2), and providing a stud (10a) for a bull nosed contact (11) at one end. At closure the contact (11) meets a cam (12) fixed to the door post, retracting to displace the slide (10) and effecting rail (8) lowering due to blade spring (7) contraction and arching.
