Abstract

The boiler consists of a combustionn chamber enclosed by a water-cooled casing (1). One side of the combustion chamber is open. To this open side is fitted a tubular water cooled heat exchanger (2). The hot flue gases follow the course indicated by the arrows A,B,C and D before entering the chimney duct (16). Cold water is circulated simultaneously through the combustion chamber jacket and the flue gas heat exchanger jacket, where it is heated to working temp. The efficiency of the boiler is increased by virtue of the heat recovered from the flue gases. The boiler is contained in a separate insulated casing.
