THE TIMING SIGNALS ARE APPLIED TO ONE INPUT OF DETECTOR 30 AND THE OUTPUT OF OSCILLATOR IS APPLIED TO THE OTHER. THE SIGNALS AT THE EXIT OF THE OSCILLATOR SHOW SUCCESSIVE TRANSITIONS TO FIRST AND SECOND POLARITIES. THE SIGNAL AT THE OUTPUT OF DETECTOR 30 IS REAPPLIED TO THE OSCILLATOR CONTROL INPUT TO KEEP ITS OUTPUT IN FREQUENCY SYNCHRONISM. DURING THE INTERVALS OF THE VERTICAL SYNCHRONIZATION AND EQUALIZATION PULSES, THE SYNCHRONIZATION SIGNALS APPLIED TO THE DETECTOR INCREASE IN FREQUENCY. THIS MAY DECREASE THE LOOP GAIN. THIS EFFECT IS OVERCOME BY ADJUSTING THE COUPLING OF ONE OF THE OSCILLATOR OR SYNCHRONIZATION SIGNALS TO THE DETECTOR INPUT TERMINALS SO THAT THE SYNCHRONIZATION SIGNALS OCCUR IN SYNCHRONISM WITH THE TRANSITIONS TO THE FIRST POLARITY OF THE OSCILLATING SIGNALS . THE INVENTION APPLIES IN PARTICULAR TO TELEVISION.
