Abstract

The circular silo stores material in bulk, having a discharge mechanism delivering into a smaller bottom opening. The mechanism is formed by a continuous conveyor (20) of closed annular shape mounted on the silo floor and clear of the silo wall, being typically concentric to the latter. Its diameter can be equal to the radius of the silo floor, and it can be accommodated in an open channel formed in the latter. Above the conveyor there can be a motor-driven truck on rails travelling round it and equipped with bladed wheel (29) on a vertical axis, sweeping material adjacent to the channel into it, and working beneath a guard.
